i was under the assumption the Lakers would have given us cash if he didn't waive it, so we wouldn't have been on the hook for all $4.1M.

Cash considerations were never mentioned as part of the deal. She was on the hook.

Someone please explain the 1.1 million we got from Washington. How did the deal change because we received it?

I understand AD waived bonus but he could’ve done that anyway. And the Lakers could’ve traded their three guys anyway.

So how did getting Washington involved and making it a three team deal make any difference?

Help.

in a 3 team trade each of the teams must "touch" the other. the 1.1MM is the pels & wizards touch

Why was it necessary for this deal to become a three team trade? What benefit did the Lakers get by making it a three team trade?

Maybe the Wizards are planning on operating as an over the cap team and could not take on salary without sending some back (in a 2 team trade). This may allow them to do so in a 3 way.

AD wants a ring. It’ll be worth it in the end for him

Yes he will definitely get a ring with the Lakers. Probably 3-4

they needed to send out their remaining gtd salary somewhere AND not take any salary back in order to max out their cap space. the wizards could accept the salary even though they are over the cap because they had trade exceptions to use

He seems to be considering it.

Supposedly he was happy there but unhappy to get traded, with Magic verbally kicking him on the way out the door. And Magic isn’t there anymore.

To play third fiddle to LeBron and AD? He's the man in Brooklyn.

When KD and Kyrie go to the Knicks, he should stay with the Nets and make bank.

Or come to Nola

well he is a little bitch, so this shouldn't be surprising.

C’mon now. To be fair to AD, he’s near 7ft tall.

If anything, he’s a big bitch

I'm calling it now: either AD or LeBron goes down with an injury before the all star break, they barely make the playoffs and are bounced in round 1.

Ok this is what I was looking for—-now it makes sense. Other than that I could not understand why we would be helping the sorry arse Lakers our but 5mil is a lot of money for a business to save.

alot of money when Gayle is putting money up left and right, but to help the trade to give them a max blows.

If Russel goes back to LAL, i dont think that is the 3rd wheel that LJ wants. But if he strikes out on Lenard, i think that may be his only choice.

Kemba - celtics, KD, Kylay stay, Kyrie Brooklyn, KL ?

Kawhi going to LAL is definitely worst case scenario for Pels. If Kawhi goes to the LAL and signs long term then the draft picks will be low for the foreseeable future.

Lebron w/o his explosive athleticism is still basically Magic Johnson (ie still an elite player). Add that to AD and Kawhi for 4plus years will be at worst a mid level playoff team (assuming injuries to one of the three studs).
