Winning the next 2 is absolutely key

8 of our first 12 games are against teams likely to be in the top 3rd of the NBA this season.
Our next two are both at home against clippers and the nets. What separates the decent from the great teams is winning all the games you should. Both of these games are games we should win and games we need to win if we're gong to be a truly great team this year.
With the way the west is, even one or two games could be the difference between the 6/7 seed and the 3/4 seed.

It also would be nice to have some momentum going into the game against Utah.

Given that we're going 82-0, I don't think you have anything to worry about son.

They gotta win as many games as possible while completely healthy to give themselves that buffer. As much as I like this team, I could see even one injury drastically changing their ability to beat even average teams. You are talking about guys like Solo and Clark getting moved up from spot minutes to major minutes. And Okafor's story is nice and all, but going from having two elite bigs on the court all 48 minutes to now only having that for 30 minutes and having Okafor or Diallo with one for the other 18 will take a major strength and make it a minor strength.

You’ve been the one preaching about depth and every NBA team goober. I’m sure lots of teams are “one major injury” away from having no chance at the playoffs this year in the West.

I'm not even saying major. Obviously if Jrue or AD go down, you are worse. But I think even a guy like Payton or Moore could be significant with our current roster.

Having a guy like Ian Clark, who went from DNP-CD, to 13 points in 17 minutes, is such a luxury that this team hasn’t had in seemingly forever. Previously, if a guy was decent, he was getting significant minutes. Having enough talent that Ian Clark might not get minutes is fantastic.
That said, having to play Okafor/Diallo or Tim Frazier 15 minutes against a reasonably decent team could be the difference between an easy win and a toss up.

Winning the winnable games now will mean every thing in April.

It’s weird, I actually feel that as long as it is only a few games here and there, we have the depth, the firepower, the chemistry, and the offensive scheme to weather a few injury bugs for a short period of time this season.
But to the OP, yeah, we have to win the games we’re supposed to. This can’t be like past seasons where we get complacent against bad teams and play down to them, too many good teams this season to play that nonsense.

I believe that Davis and holiday understand that the effort and execution must be there every night for a chance to win no matter the opponent, they’ve both acknowledged the tendency in the past to try and coast against bad teams has hurt them
as always, beat the bad teams/win your home division games/win 20 on the road and you are comfortably in the playoffs
