No doubt Stan Van Gundy was a disaster of a hire. However, and I said this going into last season, do we think it's possible that having the year of hell under SVG primed this team to be even MORE receptive of Willie Green than they would have been if he had been hired immediately after Gentry? Willie Green is one hell of a coach, but having it come off the backdrop of how bad SVG was, I think the players were absolutely ready to buy in.

I definitely think that there was a bit of a "bad cop, good cop" effect.
You go from a coach who yells and screams at you all the time and makes zero effort to build relationships, to a guy who wants to be your friend and refuses to cuss.
