Oh shite, no sense for Harkless to play through pain/risk injury now. I have been really surprised at how weak mentally the entire Blazers organization has been. They took a gut punch that first game and just folded.

They have been making tons of comments suggesting they have no chance after each game it gets worse. Reminds me of Toronto vs Cavs last year. Rondo's dig at Dame & CJ telling a reporter how they texted each other after Game 1 and concluded they just missed open shots so they were good was hilarious. Rondo said, I heard Dame and CJ texted, well AD, Jrue, and I were in the film room reviewing the game all night after Game 1.

sons, it is a pleasure to be sons with all of you sons

lets get this pregame talk about GSW off the ground

quote:

Anthony Davis to @NBAonTNT on potentially playing the Warriors in the second round:

“I’ll love it. In my first time going to the playoffs, they swept us. So I will love to have that matchup again, especially the way we’re playing.”

— Logan Murdock (@loganmmurdock) April 21, 2018

"I don't care. I just want to out coach Steve Kerr. That's all." - Alvin Gentry when asked about how far the @PelicansNBA can go in the #NBAPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/U7TPdVSdyr

Golden State Warriors

Klay's shooting 65% from deep this postseason

SB Nation: Golden State of Mind Article (portion of it below)

quote:

This is a scary team, and although they aren’t deep, their top five or six players are playing out of their minds.

The Warriors should have the tools to stop them. Stephen Curry should return at some point during the series, and although he meets a difficult matchup with Jrue Holiday, he should be able to jumpstart the Warriors’ offense into high gear. The Warriors might have a tough time guarding Anthony Davis, but the Pelicans will have a tougher time guarding Kevin Durant. The Warriors have the talent advantage, but if Anthony Davis figures out how to beat the Warriors’ defense, it could be frightening.

The Warriors were probably happy to see the Pelicans, Trail Blazers, and Spurs on their side of the bracket instead of the Timberwolves, Jazz, and Thunder. But the Pelicans have since proven that they are for real.

I'm so hyped for this series. I'd love nothing more than to put fear into Golden State

The X factor is going to be the bench for each team.

Moore cannot disappear, he needs to put up his normal 12/2/2

I know my worry is that we are going to have to rely on Solomon Hill which scares the crap out of me

side note: OKC bout to go down 1-2

So lock down Klay with Jrue, use a platoon against KD, and let Mirotic/AD work Draymond. If KD can score eleventy billion points and win, then die that way. Make him work his arse off every game to carry them.

If Curry is out, the are susceptible. They have no answer for AD.

Some stats for you from NBA.com

quote:

1. Davis became the first player with at least 47 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in a playoff game since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1987. Olajuwon played 53 minutes in a double-overtime loss to the then-Seattle SuperSonics, recording 49 points, 25 rebounds and six blocks.

2. Davis' 47 points are a postseason franchise record. It's also the most points scored in a closeout game since Kobe Bryant dropped 48 against the Sacramento Kings in Game 4 of the 2001 Western Conference semis.

3. Holiday poured in 41 points to go along with Davis' 47. It marked the first time a pair of teammates in NBA history both scored 40 points in a closeout game.

4. The combined 88 points between the Pelicans' duo is tied with Boston Celtics legends John Havlicek and JoJo White for the most points by two teammates in any playoff game in NBA history. Havlicek scored 54 and White added 34 in their 1973 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

5. Davis and Holiday became just the third pair of teammates to each score at least 40 points on 60 percent shooting in the same playoff game. The other duos are Jalen Rose and Reggie Miller (2000) and Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler (1995).

6. Davis is now averaging 32.3 points in his eight-game postseason career, with a total of 258 points. Only Michael Jordan (283) and LeBron James (266) have scored more points in their first eight playoff games.

Jazz can dagger OKC next game at home with a 2-1 lead.
would help the pels in general if OKC was in disarray

spurs do us a solid, but the best bet in sports is a home game 5 with a 3-1 lead.

I've been secretly rooting for OKC to fail even though I think OKC gives HOU a tougher series than UTA

but if MIN can come back Ill take that
