Why does Dell Demps still have a job?

A) He is staying on board.

I find this difficult to believe. If he had been given a vote of confidence, then I think he would have more aggressively tanked/gone for the 8 seed at the trade deadline. I am still bewildered that Ryan Anderson is still on this team.

B) We don't want to fire our GM mid-season, but he will be gone after the season.

Most plausible and concerning. GM's who are trying to save their jobs/are uncertain of their status tend to make short sighted moves i.e. not trading EG and Anderson to tank given the status of the team.
