Some of these guys might demand to be POBO instead but

Mike Zarren
Dan Tolzman

Are my two tops. I don’t think we have a shot at Zarren.

Mike Zarren
Trajan Langdon
Justin Zanik
Gerson Rossas

Zarren or Zanik would be my top choices.

Danny Ferry. The one who just swiped 4 second rounders for an expiring Niko.

Can’t hire Ferry to a prominent job. Can’t happen. It’s bullshite but I’m sorry. We just can’t.

I hope they do an actual search first, but if they don't land a POBO I'm fine with keeping Ferry as Shadow POBO. The Front Office executed about as perfectly as you can ask for this trade deadline.

I am hoping Ferry is currently running things behind the scenes, and he would be my #1 choice

We hiring from the current pool of GMs or are we hiring from rising stars / retreads?

Frankly I would want to throw money at someone similar to a Masai Ujiri, who did well as a scout in Orlando and Memphis before Toronto made him GM / POBO and turned them into a contender.

The trick is that a guy like this will need a big paycheck and the promise of carte blanche to do what it takes to fix the team, on-court and off-court.

Ujiri himself probably wouldn’t take it since he has Toronto in good shape, but there has to be someone from a good team we can hire to do this who is preferably NOT out of the San Antonio office.

I hear you. But I want a top to bottom cleansing. All new executive team top to bottom to look at this whole franchise with fresh eyes.

Yes. He was completely unfairly railroaded but the PR hit would be a nightmare.

A well run, well respected franchise like Boston could get away with.

We are considered a joke nationally. We can’t do it.

There are many well qualified guys without baggage that we can get.

One would think, but I saw message board comments on him recently with ignorant idiots saying “that racist is a part of their FO, figures.”

I know that’s a random Mb post but I promise you the Mike Wilbon’s of the world will absolutely crush us, and this is a black players league.

Just get a qualified guy without baggage.

The CW seems to be that Demps was responsible for all of the bad moves and Ferry responsible for the good ones. I don't know who was responsible for what.
It seems to me that the overall problem has been one of philosophy - trying to get good quick once AD was in house, instead of using the draft to find high upside; and then changing course in midstream from a slow-down team to a pace-team. And then there were a few misevaluations of talent Whoever was the philosophical driver and for evaluating a few of the dud signees should be let go.
I'm excited about the future though and hope they go picks over players.

Like I said. Just clean house. Bring in a whole new team with a whole new philosophy.
