I think it will probably be jj and that would give us a starting lineup of

Pg lonzo
Sg jrue
Sf bi
Pf Zion
C favors

Bench

Pg naw
Sg Reddick
Sf Hart
Pf melli
C Hayes
Moore and okafor and frank

I like the lineup, but I also like the fact that jj provides some spacing in the starting lineup and it's probably easier to cover-up jj's defensive deficiencies with the starters than the second unit

If I were coach I would consider bringing lonzo off bench and have a starting lineup of

Pg jrue
Sg Reddick
Sf bi
Pf Zion
C favors

Bench

Pg lonzo
Sg Moore
Sf Hart
Pf melli
C hayes

Naw and okafor and frank

I think lonzo is more effective running the second unit than naw and it wouldn't be a demotion, you can still give him minutes like a starter, and it would give the first and second units spacers to open up the floor a bit

I wouldn’t put JJ on the bench. He provides a lot of spacing Zion, Favors and BI need.

And I’m not so sure Jrue shouldn’t be the guy that’s coming off the bench but still getting a lot of starter minutes too. I just wouldn’t have Lonzo and Jrue out there together and even BI to a certain extent. Having Bi, Jrue and Lonzo on the court at the same time is going to cause a log jam.

And I like Jrue coming off the bench rather than Lonzo just because he can score and it’s a certified scorer coming off the bench, which Lonzo really isn’t yet. People will say the best lineup is Jrue, JJ, BI, Zion and Favors or Jrue, Lonzo, BI, Zion and Favors but I’ll argue it’s Lonzo, JJ, BI, Zion and Favors with Jrue playing a lot but still being the second unit’s scoring punch. JJ might could be that scoring punch but I think it would put a lot more on his and NAW’s shoulders than I’m comfortable with. Besides, I think Jrue and Hayes would work really well together. And I think Lonzo and Zion will be really really good together with JJ providing that outside threat

According to Gentry Zion will be the one coming off the bench for the moment.

I suspect whatever group looks the best will determine who goes to the bench.

Coming into the season Reddick was slotted in as first off the bench. Seems like the most likely scenario if Zion does move into the starting lineup this season.

It’ll be JJ. He’ll still have a lot of minutes but I’d assume Gentry would prefer to have rhe best defensive lineup over 3pt shooting

Wednesday vs. the Spurs is the plan for Zion’s return. ESPN has picked up the game and the tip time moved back to 8:30.

Which is interesting, because one has to assume the best lineup surrounding Zion will need to include multiple 3 point shooters.

That's why it's such a big deal that BI is shooting 40% and Lonzo is shooting 36% (and a much better number on catch-and-shoot 3s). The starting lineup that we put out there in the preseason is a better lineup now.

if ball goes to the bench to start, i think you have to be mindful of his confidence and aggressiveness. he's come quite a ways from the beginning of the year and you dont want to stifle that.

thats on the coaches (and on ball) obviously

couple of weeks before that.

Zion is coming in off bench wednesday. Ive no idea which position they practiced. Probably 4.
Eventually he'll be swiss army knife.

Theres no good finishing pg. Lonzo cant make ft to save his soul. Frank and naw not ready for prime time. Id try hart for zo, let jrue bring it up.

Balls passing and defense will keep him in the closing 5..

If we get in a situation where the other team starts fouling to stop the clock then you pull him

in a close one, one missed front end of a 1 and 1 is all it takes.

He shot 20% better in College! 67%!
Its possible its been fear/choking, being in nba.
Maybe he just woke up ready for prime time today and never looks back.

No such thing as a one and one in the NBA.

indeed you are correct.

Didnt know that charging doesnt add to team count either.
