AD/Boogie should be good enough to overcome Gentry's shittiness....great players do that all the time.

He has them shooting 3’s. They should be in the paint

I won't disagree with much of any Gentry complaints.

But none of that will change that fact that a player who we've thought for a long time now is at least in or near that top 5 discussion now has another really good player alongside him should absolutely be good enough to overcome a shite coach. Great players do that every single season, so there's no reason AD should not be good enough to do the same.

This meddling around .500 and/or the 8th seed is just not good enough in year 6 at 24 years old if AD is truly as good as we think he is.

AD hasn’t grabbed the bull by the horns here and I don’t think he will.

When you fire a coach for IMHO sound reason, but replace him with someone even worse, a proven several times failure, this should be no surprise to anyone. That the did nor replace him to start this season is unfortunate.

He quite frankly is the Johnny Jones of the NBA.

Fake news for Davis

Davis is taking a higher % of his shots at the rim at any point since his 2nd year in the league. he's finishing there at the highest rate, by far, of his career. he's taking only 2 3PA/G and hitting at 37%. he has the highest eFG%, TS%, and FTrate of his career.

Cousins, there is a case to be made he spends too much time out there and he is too lazy at times to get to the paint. part of that is that they need him to facilitate up top more than he was asked to do before. part of that is a natural progression as he has taken his game more and more to the perimeter.

and the most important part, which is never brought up in any of these "in the paint" posts, is that Davis and Cousins cannot operate in the paint at the same time. rule changes have effectively muted much of "traditional" post basketball the way we think of it.

the only reason Davis+Cousins has been effective is because they are both as far from "traditional" bigs as you can get. that they can both stretch out to 3PT line and be a threat makes their pairing work.

there's stuff to criticize with the coaching, but the basic plan they have is sound and really the only logical way to go with those 2 in 2017/18

Found this story from ESPN ranking administrations and coaches. After last night I guess we move Gentry down one more.
