The plan is for teams to continue their schedule as planned, with the next 8 games. If team is scheduled to play Hawks/Bulls/Pistons, it moves onto the next game on schedule, league sources tell Yahoo Sports
If we take that as Gospel, it should look SOMETHING like:
Kings
Jazz
Clippers
Spurs
Grizzlies
kings
Grizzlies
Orlando
Definitely not as easy. If we want to make the 8 seed, we may need to beat Memphis SIX times.

Who would replace the Knicks I wonder?

Brainfart on my part.
Orlando.
Orlando.

I wouldn't read too much into it. After taking out uninvited teams, I believe if taking Memphis next 8 they'd avoid Toronto entirely and if taking Toronto next 8 they'd play Memphis twice.
So it'll have to be some sort of hybrid schedule and teams may only have each other once max.

There's got to be much more detail about the schedules. What they have said was very general, and there's holes all in it.

Grizzlies would play:
POR
UTH
SAS
OKC
MIL
NOP
NOP
BOS
So, the question is: could we pass up the Grizzlies in what's left of this "regular season"? We'd have to go 6-2, and they would have to go 2-6. That's certainly possible, especially since we get them twice, but it still seems unlikely.

Highly unlikely.
We would have to beat the Grizzlies 6 times to get in essentially.

I would have given us a 25% chance of catching them in this format if the season hadn't ended when it did. I don't think that they are very good, and I think that we beat them twice and they also lose to MIL and BOS, and that would leave them going 2-2 in their other four games, which seems right to me. I think we obviously lose to the Clippers, and I'd normally peg us to lose two more and go 5-3, but 6-2 doesn't seem impossible at all.
But who knows how good these teams will be when they get back, because it's like we're starting over. Is Jrue going to act like it's the beginning of a season and play poorly? What kind of shape will guys be in? Does anyone get injured in "training camp" and miss games?
There are too many uncertainties, but I do know this: Zion is going to be in great shape, and I expect him to be even better than before, and that should definitely scare the rest of the league.

I laugh, but that is a legit concern.

Pels are undefeated this season on a neutral court, so I'm confident we'll go 8-0.

Jazz also have two starters out of I remember correctly

Yeah Bogdanovich is out due to surgery. Ingles has also made it known that he may not play in any sort of season restart given that he has an immuno-compromised child.

he play-in tournament would work as follows, according to sources: If the ninth seed is more than four games behind the eighth seed, the eighth seed earns the playoff spot; if the ninth seed is four or fewer games behind, then the eighth and ninth seed will enter a play-in tournament that is double-elimination for the eighth seed and single-elimination for ninth. ESPN first reported the league was working on 22-team models
As long as we finish as the 9th seed and within 4 games we have a shot at the 8th spot

The Pels may potentially have to beat Memphis or Portland 6 times to make the playoffs.
That is so stupid.

4. 2 of the 8.
the 2 in next round.
and be sure pels have to beat out the other teams.
portland thinks they are the ones.

why do you think so?
two teams will play for 8th.
one is who is 8th after 8 games.
one is who is 9th.
no details yet on 3 way tie for 8th or two way for 9th.
there are many tied 9th now and a couple close.
you can end up with 3 tied 9th easily.
weird is the 1/2 game.
looks like they are not addressing it so they dont end up with 4 teams tied 9th and a month of round robin.

It would just be the same tiebreaks as always, no?

The 2 regular season games. THen if we finished 9th, the proposed deal I saw is we have to basically beat them twice in a row to get the 8 seed, for a total of 4 games.
Is it actually a different proposal I'm missing?
