What kind of king's ransom can we get for Zion if we traded him this off season?

It’s getting pretty obvious that he is gone when his contract is up and doesn’t seem happy here now. So what would you ask for?

You don’t even entertain the idea (ever!) until he signs the max or says he won't sign. He is making 10 mil'ish a year. The return on a salary that low would be devastating. Draft picks alone won't cut it.

It would be a ton. But there is no reason to move him for a couple of years. He will have to wait it out. Perhaps in that time he has a change of heart. But he is too valuable right now. We will be on National TV and get tons of attention due to him. Other teams can stockpile assets for their offers the summer of 2023..

The supermax is still in play. If you trade him it's definitely dead. He doesn't want to be traded at this point, he wants the team to get its shite together, which isn't that crazy of an ask.

According to a report from The Athletic, Zion Williamson and his family are unhappy with the New Orleans Pelicans and some family members want him on another team. Could Williamson follow through and use the qualifying offer to leave in 2024 or the threat of using it to get traded beforehand? It’s possible

These same people have put out articles about Giannis needing to leave, Booker needing to leave, Trae needing to leave.

It's never going to change, might as well get used to it.

What’s the point of trading a franchise player for a kings ransom?

1. Have you ever seen a team build a championship this way?

2. Isn’t the best case scenario in a kings ransom finding some kind of Franchise player?

I’d call up whoever wins the lottery and start with the number 1 pick. Hate to say it, but Cade seems to be more of a natural leader than Z and his game fits today’s nba better. He’s a combo between Ben Simmons defensively and Luka offensively.

So does Griff call up Gayle once we win the lottery?

There is literally zero substance in the quote you pulled. "Could" and "it's possible" means "I have no idea but this will get clicks"

Sure, if he wants to leave upwards of $60mil on the table.

I mean, one of the only reasonable trades you can make for a guy on rookie scale is another guy on rookie scale.

Maybe Cade isn’t Zion, but his game fits the nba better, he is a better leader, and we’d have 7 years with him instead of the 1-2 we have left with Z.

Until proven otherwise this franchise is a farm team.

What makes you say that?

Unless he’s Luka mixed with Ben Simmons defense. Then he’s want out in 2-3
