I'm just a casual fan but if we were to Trade AD what could we expect to get in return?

Not sure but I’d take a new medical staff if it guarantees this franchise to be injury free for the next 15 years

The best trading partner is Boston. I'd be looking for Brown/Tatum/Pick(s)/S&T of Smart. The S&T of Smart is partly because he's a good player and partly so Boston doesn't have to include Horford for money reasons. I think Horford not being part of the trade benefits both teams.

Boston gets a starting lineup of

Kyrie
Hayward
Morris
AD
Horford

and the best ring chasing vets available.

Pels get a bunch of good wings to surround Boogie and Jrue plus the pick.

But none of that is going to happen. If Demps doesn't get fired he isn't trading AD. If Demps does get fired, the guy they bring in will be tasked with salvaging the AD era, not blowing it up.

Boston:
Brown, Tatum, 2019 first and the 2020 Memphis 1st which could be really high

Lakers: Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, 1st

Boston has best package and could really set this franchise up for a quick rebuild

Boston guys go elsewhere and suck. Same would happen here. At least Brown would. I think Tatum is can't miss regardless but I don't know if they include him

Is it time to blow it up? We should make that decision before we lock up a 7ft guy with an Achilles problem, no?

Boston would be ideal for AD as well since he could go there and not have to be "the guy". Which is something he doesn't seem to want to be here.

buuuuttt we ain't trading him no time soon.

You confuse me. Brown has the build to be an amazing player at a hard to find position in the league , and you think he’d suck. Jamal Murray is practically can’t miss though.

AD isn't going anywhere once we hire Cal as HC and POBO this off-season.

I don't see Boston realistically giving both Tatum and Brown up in a package for AD. The packages that end up going out for stars always end up looking underwhelming at the surface when the deal is made. Melo to NY. George to OKC. Butler to MIN. CP to LAC. Most people didn't think teams got a good enough return on their star, but they ended up being pretty quality returns. Now AD will get us a better return given the control on his contract, but I still don't think that nets us both Jaylen and Tatum.

I think Brown/Tatum, Rozier, Semi/Yabu, picks is more realistic

No way does Boston give up Tatum. They see Tatum same way NO saw young AD.

AD is not going anywhere. There isn’t a deal out there that will get this franchise to bite. Not enough balls in the building to take a flyer .on a deal that sends Davis packing.

So you’re saying Boston would rather

Kyrie
Hayward
Tatum
Morris
Horford

Over

Kyrie
Hayward
Morris
AD
Horford

AD balances that lineup a lot more than Tatum.

FWIW Boston have to send 20+ millions to match salaries.

So Horford will be included in their eventual offer.

That’s why I said do a Smart S&T. You may have to over pay Smart, at least $15ish, but he’d be less overpaid than Horford near the end of his deal as he ages.
