To be fair, because you're comparing the value of hill+ajinca to bazemore.
I'm not a fan of it either, but bazemore could contribute more than those two. Ontop of that, it allows you to move a positive asset like Moore in a bigger trade for a true SF.
Its not a "let's get bazemore and we're good". It's more of "let's get rid of hill/ajinca to get a backup 3&d guard and trade Moore to get a true sf"

Moore is just as good, on a better contract. Even if you get Bazemore to trade Moore, that is a negative trade. We would be taking on the same player on a bigger contract to turn around and trade moore for a small forward. Why can't you use the same assets to get Bazemore, to go get you a small Forward... Moore was here last year, and is our best guard on our second unit. that is more valuable than bringing in Baze and hoping for the best.

It's all about value. Bazemore is a negative value on that contract, but he's also helpful to this team. Moore is a neutral value at worst on his contract, so he's much more valuable than what you would trade to land Bazemore. The Hill+Diallo shite sandwich wouldn't land you as valuable of a SF as a trade that include Moore on a value deal.

Everybody gets that. But like htran said this isn’t a Moore or Bazemore situation. It’s Hill and Ajinca or Bazemore. Even if Bazemore is a different flavor of Moore he’s still a useful 2 way player and there’s no rule against them playing together. A 3 guard lineup of Jrue/Moore/Bazemore is much better defensively than any other guard you can put in Bazemore’s place and is better offensively than having Hill instead.

Because that trade isn’t available now. I really don’t think having Hill/Ajinca or Bazemore matters much for future trades for someone like Barnes. I do think it could matter in making the team better before you’re able to make a trade for someone like Barnes.

Everthing, everyone is saying is fine and dandy, but nothing is a guaranteed in this league. With the current thought process, we are signing ourselves up for paying Bazemore 19.6 million this and next year. Moore will be paid 8.6 million. Would this not limit our flexability in a big trade? Sure you can use Moore to get a wing, but then you still have to wiggle your way through making contracts work. Do we really want to pay a BENCH player close to 20 million this and next year?
I would only do this if you can off-load Bazemore on the trade deadline. GUARANTEED. Moore has bought in to our system, and we can more than likely keep him when his contract comes up. Moore also gives us more salary cap to absorb a contract coming in, while all bazemore will be doing is eating up cap space, unless you can off-load him in a SF deal.
Say there is no trade worth taking at the deadline, figuratively speaking, and we are going into the offseason with both Bazemore and Moore on the books for 19.6 million and 8.6 million. With all the free agents available, who is going to soak up the Bazemore contract? I would think he would hurt us greatly when it comes to free agency.
Also, if you do add Bazemore and keep Moore for the rest of the season as well. It is still not getting you into the finals. I believe a move for Bazemore is a short sighted move, not thinking of the fufure. Which is a move I don't think we should make, since it is not making us a contender.

Barnes, in his last warrior playoff, was weak and missed open jumpers inside the 3.
Once he took his big check, he settled into so-what territory.
Don't trade the #1 (and whomever) for Barnes.
A random first round pick at say, #22 overall, has at least a shot at greatness and for less money.

There's more cap space than players next offseason, IMO. He's also an expiring next offseason and can allow you to trade for an even bigger contract, if Moore is still on the books.
I don't feel like the Pels will be a big player in free agency, better to upgrade through trades, IMO.

Multiple sources have said the Pelicans are discussions with C Jahlil Okafor on a deal to bring him in for training camp.
Scott Kushner ? @ScottDKushner
Nothing formalized at this point but certainly an interesting, low-risk option for the Pelicans who lack a traditional center at the moment.

I like okafor. The guy has had a shitty run coupled with some bad teams with overloads at his position.
He’s got a chip on his shoulder pretty much like the rest of our squad (Randle, Ad, Payton, etc.) All guys who were written off but are young and are probably very willing to be coached.
Give him a chance, I think he meshes well with our guys. Young, hungry and no one is pointing any fingers.

Like I said, get on me because I am stuck up. I am a jerk. Maybe my opinions aren't great.
But if you guys don't believe I got info for you by now, I don't know what to say. I said they's sign him on the July 2nd BSS podcast and then basically told you guys in the other thread on August 1st that it was close.
They waited a while because Dell went on vacay on Sunday and he wanted to be out of town when it was announced so he wouldn't have to answer questions. LMAO
Also, Erman's wedding was on Saturday and this was Dell trolling him with a gift. Erman gonna have to work super hard on this one!

Dude, Nobody get things 100% correct 100% percent of the time. Not even Shams nor Woj. Hell, not even Dell. There are so many fluid things that occur when on a daily basis that no one can predict not even the player or management.
If you ask me, you have a good feel for what’s going on in the organization. I wouldn’t apologize for stating what you know at the time.

Hilarious
Nothing at all to lose if it's a training camp invite though, why not.

Weird to think about how they almost traded for him before the boogie deal happened. What a disaster that would’ve been. If he were in the league 10+ years ago he’d be a pretty great player. I do like the potential here, though. As you mentioned, he could have a random night of giving you 20+ points. Emeka won’t. Diallo, no one trusts.
