Dell could've totally gotten Hawes + Holiday for Noel + 2014 first rd pick, plus Philly would have kept that 2nd round Pierre Jackson pick.

I know Shitty Lopez was still on the team, but so was Grievis when that trade was made. The writing could have been on the wall for both of them. Hawes wouldn't have been the long term solution, but consider this...
a) he's in a contract year
b) he's playing out of his mind in a contract year because he's trying to get paid (averaging 15-10, had 28-10 tonight)
c) would've given us an upgrade at center over Shitty Lopez, if only a marginal one in some of your eyes, an upgrade nonetheless
d) therefore, squashing the trade rumors that we NEED Asik
e) he's making 6.5 million this year; Stiemsma and Aminu make 6.4 combined this year
f) thus, don't sign Steamer and completely cut bait with Aminu and there's your salary cap space.
g) we don't have 9 terrible games of basketball to start the season
h) championship

What if....

I don't have time to go check the numbers right now, but I'm pretty sure Hawes means no Evans. We basically gave away Lopez for Withey to make room for Tyreke. I doubt we could have taken on Hawes and gotten Evans without cutting multiple other guys.

i think they were signed with exceptions

we couldn't have traded for hawes and gotten evans. i'm pretty sure of this

and i've been hoping we traded for hawes for 2 years

Could've used exceptions on Morrow and Smith then, who was resigned as a restricted free agent or they picked up his option or something.

Demps would've figured out a way to finagle the structure into a perfect fit like he's paid to do.

I'm a big fan of Hawes. I think he's a free agent this year. Wed have to move someone, but I'd love to sign him.

it isn't possible if we were going to sign a RFA the class of evans

and hawes is very injury prone and playing out of his fricking mind to start this season

So Philly would have traded Hawes for a 2nd round pick when they were getting NO's first round pick, which would be lower with Hawes? Alright.

The Walrus was after Hawes when he was in Sacramento.

Dare to speculate NorthshoreTiger7...
Who knows? You might come up with some creative ideas of your own

I speculate that Dell explored his options.
