Most everyone knew hiring gentry was a terrible move regardless of how good a guy he is. Excited for the future more than ever now

Sucks that I don’t have faith we hire a real coach. I’m very scared it’ll be Kidd or Lue

The only time Griffin made A move everyone anticipated was when we drafted Zion. But who wouldn’t. I have faith he’ll find the right coach!

Lue was a HC for three years and took a team to the Finals all three and won once. You can say that he had LeBron and was supposed to get to the Finals, and my answer to that is that I'm fine with a coach who gets the results that he's supposed to get, instead of underachieving.

I just don't get it.

How does this work, exactly? It's Gentry's fault that we had a bad season, but the teams with the best players win titles no matter who the coach is, because the coach isn't that important. Seriously, how do you handle the cognitive dissonance?

Well the LeBron GOAT debate would be interesting if we hired Lue.

If Griffin/Lue combo made the Pels relevant, then suddenly that Cleveland championship doesn’t look so much like LeBron carrying everyone around him.

If they failed miserably, it looks better than ever.

No, I want people to make up their minds about whether it very much matters who the head coach is. I want people to quit pretending that most of the team's problems are going to be fixed by firing Gentry.

People on this board need to make up their minds whether or not it matters who the head coach is. You can't tell me that all our problems were Gentry's fault and a new coach is going to vault us to new heights, and also tell me that Lue isn't a good coach because it didn't matter who the Cavs coach was because they had LeBron. That's just stupid.

It is not all the coach. We are young and still need a couple more pieces. However, I think the spurs game kind of put the importance of a good coach in perspective. Every time we started to gain momentum and find something that worked offensively POP would call a time-out and come up with a plan to stop it. AG typically just lets us blow a lead completely or fall 10 plus points behind before calling a timeout and still won’t have an answer. Not to mention that some of his substitutions are really questionable. Like when he pulled JJ a few games ago when he was on absolute fire. We also lose a lot of close games and games where we blew a big lead late. Some of that has to do with our team being young but a lot of that also falls on AG.
