We got to hit these damn picks also. Use our late firsts from the trade and find a senior college guy who has leader attributes and know their roles. I’m pretty sure we can find a Marcus Smart, Draymond Green, Pat Beverly type of player around there. I’m tired of drafting High Risk High Reward players if we don’t have the coaches for them.

Xavier Tillman, Desmond Bane, Brandon Clarke, and De'Anthony Melton in the last 3 drafts for Memphis. All late picks. Good scouting matters. Low ceiling and extremely productive. Our drafting philosophy has not been good.

You’re being extremely generous if you think it’ll only be the first 3-4 years. This front office is incompetent

Oh yeah?

So he played in the playoffs as a rookie in an injury shortened season - waste? fricking dumbass.

He’s rolling up 24/8 and we’re loaded with draft picks and expiring contracts. Waste? Your a fricking clueless jackoff.

This team is in position to be BI/Zion, Hayes, Naw, Kira, and a bunch of first round picks. All the other contracts are expiring or short term. We literally have set in place what teams like the Celtics etc have done.

We literally have set this up perfectly for Zion.

Please go the frick away.

He never said the organization is going to waste Zion. He said Gentry and SVG are the coaches that are going to waste his years.

Gentry got fired and SVG so far hasn’t look like a great coach at all.

Oh yea wasted Zion like he is in his prime. Zion has so much room to improve its not even funny, that's what's makes what he doing right now kind if crazy. But Zion is no where near ready to lead a contender.

I don’t know about the others, but De’Anthony Melton was drafted by the Rockets. He was eventually traded to Phoenix in the deal to get rid of Ryan Anderson’s contract. Then he was traded to Memphis.

This is a little early. The two had the COVID season and now have this shortened one with the organization. I believed our role players would have contributed more this season and made us competitive. I was wrong. We have the worst 3pt shooting team in the league and we have people that shoot it like Steph. That needs to be addressed before the team can be any good. Also we need role players who can not be so careless with the ball.

BI and Zion have been immensely effective with no spacing being created by the role players on the team. I don’t think it was a horrible assumption to think they would have had decent shooting production based off of last season. That alone has blown up our offense. It also has allowed teams to take rebounds the other way for better offense in transition.

No one respects our perimeter players outside of BI. BI and the post players have been solid for the most part this year. You can’t win basketball that way.

I think by the end of the season people are going to be even more pissed at Stan because of the difference Kira will make and how much better they'll start looking near the end. I know rookies normally don't impact winning, but this rookie has a particular set of skills that nobody else on the roster has and is desperately needed.

I just hope they've hidden Kira enough to keep him out of a Beal trade. Because even if you add Beal I feel like you're going to need Kira's skill set.

Could we really be smart enough to not use Kira because we KNOW he will be good and we dont want him to be pursued when we trade JJ and Lonzo? I doubt it but it is a pleasant thought.

No, they are not that smart. If it happens it's dumb luck. Stan absolutely deserves all the heat he's getting for not having a larger rotation, even though we knew this is who he was going in.

Yeah it's hard not to like what Memphis has done as a comparable small market team.

They have a young, analytics-minded HC and have drafted well. Clarke (16th overall in 2019) and Bane (who was a 30th overall in 2020) are the types of players that would be helping this team more than NAW or Jax.

Sad.

Place the blame on Griffin. He is a used cars salesman. He believes in quantity over quality. This isn't the NFL

His moves have been bad. Why would you take Bledsoe back in a trade?

His hire, Stan is a joke. SvG is a rethread collecting his retirement check from Gayle. SVG was a broken down Ford in Detroit and Griffin hired him. He's more interested in politics than coaching.

I do wonder if the obvious friction leaking through between SVG and Griff philosophically will become a full fledged fire and will Griff have enough juice for a "mutual parting of ways" after only one season.

Griffin should have known what he was getting into with Stan. We all did.

This

Any time there's a leak, there's always a reason, someone always leaks something with some intent behind it. So why would someone with the Pels leak that Griff/SVG didn't agree on playing NAW and Griff won the battle and SVG relented? Kinda sounds like it's the beginnings of putting it out there that Griff isn't happy with SVG at this point.

SVG needs to go before irreparable harm is done to both our stars.
