Last night was more of one the NBA screw jobs then indicative of the rest of the season.

The refs basically stopped the flow of the game and helped the Lakers make a run to get it back close in the middle. The Pels were about to push it out of reach and the Lakers probably would have conceded.

Schroder should have fouled out early and NAW should have never been in foul trouble. The FT discrepancy was ridiculous as Zion was constantly fouled all game.

NAW shouldn't be tasked to run the point

He's an attacking/scoring/shooting guard. He's not someone who thrives setting up plays for others.

Can't we just play guys to their strengths FFS?

Stan had some interesting comments on turnovers from today's presser. Specifically with regards to NAW he said he's really good at the P&R but finds other parts of the offense where he has to set things up for others to be challenging. Stan chalked it up to inexperience and said he thinks he'll get there, but it's not something he's good at right now.

Regarding the turnovers in general he said,

quote:

We had set a flair screen for Brandon and Montrez Harrell sniffed it out when they threw it and that's just gotta be teaching on our part to what you should be looking at on those plays. It's similar to teaching a quarterback what your reads are. We haven't taught that to the young guards, we haven't taught it. And so he was simply looking at Brandon, didn't see the defender, he's gotta know what his reads are, that turnover's on me.
