Not sure I’ve ever seen a Pels/Hornets team look so routinely unprepared and just generally not give a shite before. Making the same mistakes, and frankly it doesn’t even look like anyone is even telling the players they’re making mistakes

Zero hustle. Zero emotion. No one ever seems to have any idea what the frick is going on. It’s horrible.

And he’s not going anywhere either. Getting tough to be excited about this franchise right now

I don’t think any coach can improve the effort from this roster. Unless it’s Pop or a guy players are afraid of

Problem with that is, is we saw what the young guys are doing in extended minutes and it ain’t any better defensively.

More energy, but we’re gonna lose more games than not still.

I just glanced at his twitter page just to see if there were any mentions of the team practicing over the break or his basketball philosophy or anything like that. Or just....any mention of basketball at all

...yikes

Why is this dude even bothering coaching basketball? Doesn't seem to have much interest in it

He’s too busy being the wokest coach in the NBA to care about coaching.

Go on YouTube and find yesterday’s press conference, he actually goes into pretty solid detail about what they did over the break, the limitations of what they could do, and what the schedule looks like the rest of the season(spoiler: we only have space for 11 more practices, most walkthroughs on away games will have to be held at hotels, not at the stadium because of Covid testing parameters).

They practiced, they drilled, they did work, something just isn’t working and this is now two regimes and two defensive coaches we have tried to use to get these guys to play with effort on defense.

SVG said the team didn't have energy in its practice yesterday. Called it one of the "worst practices" he's been a part of.
This team has quit on SVG.

I think this is becoming obvious.

Puts even more context around what I felt before the game was a bit of a “I’ve thrown my hands up” attitude during his press conference.

LINK

This is it for anyone that wants to watch. Halfway through he starts responding to a question about the break and schedule going forward. Made some comments like “we’ll have to see how the break translates.” Definitely felt his body language and tone seemed different, frustrated, and almost defeatist with those responses in particular.

How do you come back from the All Star break no showing at practice, then get blown out at home by the worst team in the league!!?!??

This shite is over fellas. There's no winning streaks coming or turning around a team that has literally quit.

I don’t want them to turn it around to be honest.

I want them to sell whatever Vets they can for whatever they can get.

Kira, NAW, Jax in heavy rotation. Play them. If they stink, at least they got to play and we know they stink.

Be honest, this team would have quit on Monty and he was a beloved coach.

I don't think SVG is an elite coach by any means, but it's not like the fundamentals or drawn up plays are bad (like Gentry). His rotations are questionable, but that also tells you how bad our talent is.

People are gonna want to blame Gundy exclusively(and he might deserve a lot of it, we just don’t know), but it feels like the team is sort of just soft mentally.

Then you compound it with guys like Redick, Bledsoe, and Adams that instead of bringing leadership and and a positive culture, seem to be thinking and more concerned either about where they want to be next, or in Adams case, waxing poetical about the good ole days in OKC and more concerned about how his farm in New Zealand is doing than becoming a vocal leader.

Im about there as well. I just don't trust the guy that put this group together, to fix it.

And I hate that thats where we're at with Zion.

We've been in this same spot for almost a decade now. Smh

I mean that’s sort of what we did today and got blown out.

Kira and NAW both got more minutes than Bledsoe.

We are sort of in damned if you do, damned if you don’t territory

Yeah as much as i've criticized SVG, I can't be too mad about what he's done with the young guys.
Jaxson started out the season as the backup C, and he tried multiple times to insert Kira and NAW into the rotation, but they've been so bad(especially NAW) that its been hard to play functional basketball with them out there, at times.

When NAWs out there throwing balls into the 10th row, its impossible to keep him out there.

Kira's the only one I still have hope for. And thats on Griff, not SVG.

Poor drafting, poor trades, poorly put together roster... don't think any coach can be successful with this group!
