And we likely don’t end up getting Herb, Trey, Jose, CJ, Nance, Val etc etc etc.
Plus, Garland is signed with Klutch, there was not a chance in hell we would have taken him after the entire organization just got screwed by them.

You could have a social life but instead you spend your free time trying to troll and failing badly.

The Pels are 8-6, looking like they've barely scratched the surface and will be even better by the end of the season, and random pelitards still come here after glorious wins to melt.

We were never drafting a Klutch client right after the AD saga. Especially one that had a small sample size and an injury to boot.

Wow. No one on this board has ever realized that before.

Hmm…I’m not melting. Weird

We're also off to a solid start, so this is a weird melt.

Probably right about taking Garland because of the sample size, injury, etc. But Klutch would have had nothing to do with it. I absolutely hate that fan made idea.

I'm pretty sure OP is a Lakers fan, so this post is not surprising.

Why is this outrageous? The NBA is just like any other business. If you've been screwed by some company/agency/group in the past, it absolutely comes into the calculus of decision making around that professional relationship. If we had 2 players rated nearly identically on our board, one is with Klutch and the other is with an agency who has a history of negotiating with you in good faith, you would be certifiably insane to pick the Klutch player. So I've established that there is value/cost to drafting a Klutch player. To "quote" the infamous phrase attributed to a dozen famous men, "Now we're just haggling over the price."

You cant play this game one-sided though. Much of those transactions happened because we fricked up previous opportunities. And had we hit on previous opportunities that would have freed up resources to focus on the fewer outstanding needs with greater resources.
Pels could have draft Garland, took Clark or Keldon Johnson over NAW, and McDaniels over Didi. Isaiah Stewart or Bey over Kira. Frankly the first two years of drafting for the Grif regime were terrible outside lucking into Zion.
Garland hurts though cause he’s becoming one of the great young PG’s in this league and fills a role perfectly on this squad.
I remember beating the drum hard about how everything in his bag fit so perfectly with what Zion and Bi projected to be. Fit next to Jrue or Lonzo or as a super 6th man. One those I hate I was right cause it makes it sting knowing what we chose to do instead...

Agreed, it's silly.
If it were true Griff would have routed Lonzo immediately instead of engaging in protracted extension talks for a year. Never would have taken Bledsoe in a deal.
The irony is all that "muh Klutch" talk and Garland floated taking less money and structuring his contract to help the small market Cavs keep/get guys if it were needed.

You don't think Klutch sabotaged the Pelicans ability to move Ball? Seriously? Klutch was releasing shite to sabotage his value ever since Ball signed with them. It was a prime example of why they don't want to deal with Klutch.

You all cant have it both ways, if Klutch wanted Ball out of NO they would have tried to facilitate any trade that gets him out. If Griff hated Klutch so much, he wouldnt have engaged in extension talks, brought in Bledsoe in a trade for Jrue. Heck, he wouldnt have wanted Ball in a trade to begin wth.
This is classic case of when this board goes to conspiracy theorizing to explain motives in questionable decisions(passing on Garland) and then does it so long they take it as fact.

Wrong. They were calling for Chicago ever since he signed. They posioned the water on every possible trade scenario..we even tried to trade him him to Chicago in good faith and they didn't want to give us shite be Klutch was going to get him there without having to give up assets. And that's exactly what happened.
Klutches fricked the Pelicans in the handling of Ball.

Again, made up nonsense
Griffin NOT Klutch turned down a midseason trade for Lauri + compensation for Lonzo, overplaying his hand.
Griffin NOT Klutch turned down an extension counter offer of 18-20 million at the start of his extension season.
Griffin NOT Klutch put too much stock into NAW as a replacement for Lonzo.
Griffin NOT Klutch said publicly they viewed Jaxson as a prospect at or greater than the guys they could get at 4(Hunter/Garland).
You all want to lean into conspiracies and "secret truths" when the reality is fairly simple, and publicly available: Griff, the guy that wanted to make a godfather offer to Kyle Lowry and Tim Hardaway Jr, made some poor decisions that year
