Bottom line is: is it big enough of a con (personal attachment to your own/prior assets) to go with someone else should Zarran want the job? IMO, no. There will never be a perfect hire.

Pro's - experience with history of a well run organization and a team that had multiple picks and has already worked with building with youth. Don't know, but hopefully has personal relationships with Tatum and Smart so that transition would be fluid and positive.
Ive been watching Celtics a lot to try and see how well Tatum and Marcus get along, this will be important as I think both are coming since Celtics have replacements on the roster already.
Con's - Media will spin it as some sort of vindication against LAL and us not giving them a fair chance or whatever tf MJohnson said b/c we were already working with BC. The league may also look at it as premeditated arrangement.
Pels FO - I think having Gentry in a FO role should be announced at the same time to help soften any media negativity with race in the FO role. It will come.

This is an extreme reach. Will some people bring up race? Sure. There are also some people that believe the Earth is flat.
Mickey Loomis is white. Sean Payton is white. Drew Brees is white. And I guarantee you 99.99% of Saints fans, regardless of their race, don't care because it's about winning.
The race thing is one of those angles people brew up on internet forums. 'Narratives' seldom track what people actually feel in real life. Around 75% of my coworkers are black and stuff like this is a non-issue. It's only a 'narrative' for pundits and talking heads.

I’m curious why you think Tatum is better than the whole package. Don’t get me wrong I think Tatum is a solid young player , but here are the stats.
Tatum : 16.5 ppg / 6.3 rpg / 1.9 apg
Kuzma : 19.1 ppg / 5.6 rpg / 2.3 apg
These two players alone are very similar. Tatum just had a great playoff run last year. Hell. Just last night they played pretty close to similar in the rising stars challenge. Kuzma won the MVP but Tatum might have won it if his side won it.

The cliche analogy that 4 quarters =/= $1 in the NBA is true. While I think it's important to get enough extras to make the rebuild work better than what they did with AD, the most important part is the best player you get. I'd take Tatum or Zion and nothing before I take a bunch of C level draft picks and players.
Kuzma reportedly has hip injury concerns and was quoted today as saying he'd rather have people saying bad things about him in Los Angeles than saying nothing about him in Orlando. He wouldn't want to stay in NOLA if he got traded here.

Tatum is much better than kuzma on defense, has actually led his team AND is 3 years younger

If the Celtics are going to make a serious run after Davis,
there are a whole lot of conflicts of interest and ethical issues( including inside knowledge) involved.
How much $ and control will he want? I assume plenty of both.

yup

yup
to add to these thoughts, they will soon be having to decide whether to pay those Lakers quarters .50 cent pieces each. does anyone think it's a good rebuild to lock those 3 young guys in for ~$50-60M annually until 2022?
