Victor Oladipo has one year remaining on his contract with the Indiana Pacers, but he is reportedly "looking to move on" this offseason, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

Weiss speculated the guard could be part of a trade with the Boston Celtics, sending Gordon Hayward near his home in Indiana in a package that also includes draft picks. Oladipo has earned two All-Star selections in three years with the Pacers but was inconsistent in 2019-20 while recovering from a quad injury that cost him about a full year of action. He finished the season averaging 14.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Could make things interesting in terms of a Jrue trade this offseason

Yeah I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

I wonder what a 3 team trade could look like with Jrue and Hayward going to Indy and Oladipo going to Boston.

Pretty sure his goal seems to be a big market. So you are likely risking a one and gone situation bringing him to NOLA.

But could be part of a multi-team trade I guess.

EDIT: I see you edited it to include the rumor about Boston. Yeah, that could make sense if you think you are just losing Oladipo no matter what. Which they likely are.

I was thinking more in terms of a three team trade, don’t think Nola could justify trading Jrue for Dipo

I’m not sure it could work. Don’t know if there’s enough assets around. I don’t want Myles Turner, so besides him, I don’t see it

3 team with Washington and Indiana. We wind up with Beal.

A 3 team trade with Celtics, Pacers, Pels could have a few outcomes.

What if we could get the Holiday brothers and Marcus Smart while keeping Jrue? Just for thought.

Other than that Jrue would have to go to the Pacers, maybe Myles Turner and Marcus Smart?

Oladipo/Redick to Boston
Jrue/Hayward to Indy
Brodgon/Turner to Pels

Salary works out perfectly for everyone, kind of weirdly perfect.

I'm sure some picks would need to go out though, but the money aspect works that way.

Why not Lonzo instead of Jrue?

Lonzo and Hayes Package for

Oladipo and Turner

Oladipo
Holiday
Ingram
Zion
Turner

Pels get a PG that can actually finish at the rim and distribute in half court offense, also don't lose any defense out of the guard position. (If he gets back to player he was prior to quad injury, its a major upgrade)

Pels also get a center that can atleast open up the paint and bang some 3s, even though he isn't the best rebounder or defender.

I don't get why y'all want Turner. Seriously have any of you guys watched him play?

I get it, hes not exactly at the top of the wish list, but hes also better than anything we fielded last season at the 5.

He’s not without his flaws, but I think a couple of things are true:

He is not in an ideal situation playing next to Sabonis, on a team like ours I would expect him to look better and to scheme his strengths into our offense a bit better, and unless Zion develops a reliable jump shot, and ideally even if he does, we really should want a starting caliber rim protecting big that can stretch the floor(one that ideally is also a good defensive rebounder which unfortunately Turner does not excel at). He only just turned 24 and so is likely to still develop some. And there aren’t a whole lot of players in that mold out there, that make financial sense, and potentially available.

Personally, I think we made a pretty big mistake de-prioritizing and incentivizing Christian Wood to want out after what he showed and subsequently re-iterated last season. Guy shouldn’t command a huge salary relative to what he can provide and has only been improving at 24 and checks off most of the boxes and has been steadily improving defensively.

I didn't say i wanted him, i was simply showing how the trade could work from a financial standpoint.

I dont really care to make a trade with the Pacers in any capacity.

Im in the trade Jrue to GSW for the picks, trade Lonzo to the Knicks for a pick, trade JJ to the Nets for young player.
I'd also like to S&T for Olynyk sending an early 2nd or two to Miami since they have hardly any picks at all the next few years.

I know this board is big on Vic, but he has not looked even remotely the same since returning from such a devastating injury. I get it -- it takes time to fully come back from an injury, but he doesn't even seem 50% close to the athlete he was prior to the injury. I am afraid he has fallen into the mode of Gordon Hayward and he won't be worth anywhere near the money he will probably command.

I think most people are looking at this as not getting Oladipo but getting involved in a multi team trade.

Yeah, who is stupid enough to want a 7' great rim protector that shoots 3's at a 36% rate next to Zion?

Why would Indy give up Brogdon? He is basically the engine for their offense. Sure Sabonis put up stats in a weak East (compared to the Frontline talent in the West) and TJ Warren was getting buckets during the bubble, but Brogdon is the straw that stirs that Pacer drink.

Losing both Brogdon and Victor leaves you with a roster with no creators. Jrue has shown he can't be relied upon to run an offense full-time and he is soon to be on the backside of his prime. Hayward at this point is a over-qualified 4th option.

Yeah Brogdon just makes no sense to give up from the Indy side. Frankly given his fit and everything else, I imagine you would need to overpay to get him, similar to how we felt about Jrue a couple seasons ago. He’s a guy that just brings additional value to their team that they aren’t going to easily part with.

The one knock with Myles is that he is not a good rebounder at all. Someone correct me if I am wrong here, but I also believe Zion has subpar defensive rebounding numbers as well. Some of this could be mitigated by Lonzo being an exceptional rebounder for a a guard.

It could/would be a problem unless he shows improvement that he hasn’t shown so far in his career.

I do think Zion will improve notably in that area but it would be pretty critical that all three other players can board at an above average rate.

But pretty much any option available to us forces trade offs.
