This.
The team was tired.
A days rest and this is a win.

Can't wait for Payton and Mirotic to return so I don't have to watch Jrue initiate the offence down the stretch and watch Randle attempt to play defence and camp his fat arse in the key.

Well maybe if AD would have taken more than 7 shots in the first 40 minutes of the game Jrue wouldn’t have needed to force up 20 shots.

So it’s AD’s fault Jrue shot 9-20?

Cool, new level of stupid unlocked.

So...
If ad puts up big numbers and pels win thanos makes a thread.

If ad plays timid like tonight, he’s tired and because he had to carry the team the night before.

Ok.

So when AD dominates, your clueless arse is quiet.

When he has an efficient game, you chime in.

You people are an embarrassment to the fanbase and quiet frankly a little bit of a coward.

It’s a message board, eat crow when you’re proven wrong.

Dude ad always puts up big numbers. I’ve been vocal throughout. Just because I didn’t comment on your dumbass thread earlier doesn’t mean anything. You calling people cowards now? Over basketball? Jesus dude this board isn’t my life.

AD is a beta. Regardless of his crazy games, independent of his efficient games, he’s a beta. He’s an amazing player. But we don’t have to agree. Again, he’s a great player, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings or whatever.

You seemed to have picked enough fights on this board to keep you busy, let’s talk again when Davis is done having picnics on the 3 pt line.

How are you and everyone defining alpha and beta here? Is this a statistical, on the court metric? Leadership metric? Emotional metric?

I feel like I’m reading this thread and I don’t even really grasp what the argument is about?

AD is a great player. There are few players in history that have played with the efficiency and had the level of growth in their games as AD has had. It feels like every season he is adding entire facets to his game, like his ability to pass and moderately facilitate this year. Not many players just go out and add 5 assists per game to their repertoire and become the second best assisting big man in the league when it was a sometimes debilitating weakness the season prior. It’s practically mind boggling.

That said, AD is not a natural leader. His skill set does not naturally elevate the rest of his team and force them into a cohesive unit the way players like Harden or Lebron can. Because despite his improvement he’s not a facilitator or someone that can easily create his own shot. So his personality and game puts some constraints that help elevate some other players.

But KD isn’t really a vocal leader either, nor Kawhi. But they are also top 5 players in this league.

So idk, to go back to the three possible definitions, I think statistically and in his game on the court he’s an alpha, leadership wise he’s naturally a beta, he does better with a vocal leader taking that burden off him, and emotionally he’s cool and collected but he can get streaks of fire and passion that most greats get.

According to Thanos and a couple others, he puts up great stats so that makes him an alpha, and there is no convincing them otherwise...

He has those streaks of fire, and if he can ever keep that going you would see this team take another step, because right now we are missing leadership, and no team can survive without it.
