There is rising buzz New Orleans plans to enter the race for free agent-to-be Kyle Lowry, league sources say.

There will be several Lowry suitors but it's clear why the Pels, desperate to help Zion Williamson reach the playoffs, would want in.

Depends on the opportunity cost and if Willie Green and company can have him ready to ball.

Seems like a big gamble on an older guy. Idk his injury history. Green could try to emulate the CP3 effect with Lowry.

I agree but I hope these same people not wanting Lowry are also not wanting CP3. CP3 is way more injury prone than Kyle

I hate guards that shoot 39% from 3 on 7.5 attempts and get 7.5 assists a game!

Agreed. I did but I’d see this as the better option for sure. I think either would be an age gamble.

If it is a one year deal than it would be an excellent signing. Lowry already has his ring so there is a chance he may not be thriving to go to an immediate contender if the price is right.

Unfortunately, this will be his last big payday, so why would he only sign a 1 year max offer? As good as he has been the past 3 years, he is too old to invest 25+ million for multiple seasons.

If Griffin offers him more than a 1 year w/ a team option for a 2nd (Ftr, Lowry wouldn't accept a team option), it shows Griffin didn't learn from the Adams mistake.

would be a huge veteran addition to the group. lowry has also been renowned by his teammates almost everywhere he has played.

If it’s a one or two year deal, great. Longer than that I’d pass given his age unless there’s a team option in year 3. At the very least he’ll provide the vocal veteran leadership we need.

i can see this either being a solid addition or a James Posey level overpay for a veteran looking for his last big payday

Zero chance it would be less than 2 years for a team like us. Maybe he signs a 1 year deal with the Lakers or something but not us.

I would imagine he would want a 2+1 from us. 2 year deal from contenders.

Year 3 would concern me. Hell, year 2 kinda concerns me.

If it’s 2+1 would that qualify for a sign and trade?
