Is everyone so hard up on trying to move him? I want to compete and win games, but the goal shouldn’t be to go win it all next year. So, why give up anything to get rid of his contract? One year left... Ride it out

Wont cost much to get rid of him and the extra cap space could be nice if the team wants to make a push for playoffs

Definitely not for paying to get rid of him. Or losing value to include him in trades.

He will be an asset at the deadline, so unless he needs to be included in a Myles Turner trade or something, then keep him for now and trade him at the deadline.

This. Move him if it facilitates a larger deal, but definitely don't take back less in exchange for Hill to be shipped out.

And, it's something that we don't want to talk about, but Gayle may not want to pay the luxury tax. Hopefully she will if we have a legit competitor.

We won't be within 15 million of the lux tax line.

Pels don’t need to be anywhere near that line. We may be building a fun team, but it will take time

Sure, not this season. If they use up all of there cap space and use Moore and/or Solo to trade for more long-term salary, then it can happen very soon.

ETA: I'm not talking exclusively about this season, I'm saying that we may not want to get into the tax before Zion hits his prime.

The ones that want to trade him probably hear about his bad contract all the time and don't realise he's on his last year.

Solomon Hill will have his best year as a Pelican this year. It’s a contract year for him and probably his last potential big one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pels aren’t in the hunt for him to be moved at the deadline for picks and a longer term bench presence

Because he is way overpaid. We need to get rid of his contract.

Well he is garbage which is why everyone wants to trade him. But I agree, unless he is a filler in a trade, we keep him and he becomes an asset at the deadline. Especially for say a team like Brooklyn that signs Kyrie and wants another big FA next summer

His contract will be an asset soon. They should hold onto him. They don't need to fill these team with bloated contracts right now so they don't need the cap room.

We will not trade him til the deadline. He is an asset.

3 years ago he was a liability, thanks to Dealin' Dell.

Next season is a VERY weak free agent class, so it would be best to have money to spend this season..

If you can flip him for a Turner, and still have the money to chase a Beverly or Collison type, or even depending on what we do with Ball we would have the money to chase a Russel or Brogdon (if hes willing to come I'd take Brogdon anyway)

Would like a functional, breathing human that can play basketball. He is a high priced corpse that is being paid a lot of money...
