Maluach will be the pick at 7 tomorrow, you don’t need to tune in until pick 23

OK. So I kinda get trading Herb from a strictly financial standpoint - depending on who you get back. However, I would argue he is exactly the type of player that you want to hang on to if you are trying to reset the culture. He is a hard nosed, lead by example, gym rat, selfless effort guy who is an athletic All-NBA defender, and becoming very solid on the corner 3. He is the guy you want holding other players accountable and setting the culture of the team as a vet. I could see Dumars seeing alot of himself in Herb.

Yeah I can't imagine it going a different way.

If they make both picks and they aren't involved in trades:

7, Maluach
23, Clayton

Makes a lot of sense

Clayton is going to Miami at 20, he’s worked out for them twice and cancelled his other workouts.

this is doing what Mac has been preaching he wants the team to do. take on negative assets, rehabilitate their image, then flip them for value

It’s what we should have been doing since we drafted Zion on his rookie deal.

Although I think that’s a mistake, I think you’re right about what’s going to happen.

we aren’t winning with him either. Herb is best suited on a championship team that already has shooting. Not here

If a guy doesn't want Herb traded, who cares

Because someone can give 10 reasons why there's a chance he IS traded and instead of 2 pages of good discussion and possibilities its just people crying about how "they don't like it". Its tiring and ruins actual discussions. There's people who have good posts and discussions that get ruined with a trillion DVs and whiny comments just because they don't like it. I'd rather have those conversations instead of reading bitchy posts saying "no" with 0 actual defense or reasoning.

A real fan is a fan of the team not specific players. I guess that's why I think this board is stupid as frick sometimes. Because people value mediocre players > the actual team or future.

Even right now you have people upset or happy about this trade meanwhile some of those people don't even know what they are happy about or upset about..

So many solid centers in the draft, take the best player at 7. Rondo is the only true point guard we have had in like ten years. If they don’t fix that, nothing else will matter.

right. You don’t necessarily have to go malauch at 7. Can try to trade up and get sorber or another big in the teens or higher.

It's easy to just scroll past them and to the comments pertaining to actual trades.

DV's aren't ruining threads. Just ignore them. Plenty of good posts get downvoted to death.

And it's been that way since the beginning of every team sport ever invented. It is what it is.

That’s true but it’s well known we love him as a prospect. It just makes too much sense for him to be the pick at 7.

I really wouldn't count out trading for a center. I can see us taking Maluach at #7 but we still have guys like Allen/ Claxton/ Gafford that we can trade for. The problem is you'd have to include Herb in that trade. Same thing with Sabonis/ Bam and Murray.

That's why i think something else happens with Murray/ Zion/ Herb. To trade Olynyks 13mil in salary that could have been added with a Herb/ Jose/ hawk package to get a player worth 30-40 mil hurts us.

It means we have to trade Murray/ Zion to get another star and limits what we can get back in a Herb trade.

Meanwhile if we actually are rolling with this current roster then just trade Z now cause we aren't winning anything IMO. It would legit be a "run it back" with just a younger player instead dog CJ. The trade didn't fill holes or really make us better. Something else has to be cooking..

I think most of us on the board agrees with you. However, it doesn’t seem like it’s what the Pels are leaking out. I hope we get Kon, Fears, or Bailey at 7 and then get two bigs at 23 and 40. That doesn’t sound like that’s happening tho.

Yeah to my knowledge an extension that kicks in a year from now doesn't affect him being traded this season. The only difference is that his trade value increased with longevity.
