Shaedon Sharpe

How many would be upset if we took him with any pick in the top four? I've watched quite a bit of his "highlights", I know they're highlights, and his upside looks to be the highest in my opinion and maybe be a good talent to transition to as CJ gets older.

If jabari and Chet are already taken I wouldn’t be upset with Sharpe if he shows out during workouts and the combine.

I don't know much about Sharpe but this goes for anyone the team would draft. I don't care how skilled or how great his physical tools are, if he can't check the "Good Basketball Instincts" checkbox, I don't want them to draft him. They haven't shown they can develop raw players, but they do know how to use guys that are naturally hoopers.

I don’t know much about him but I’ve seen people refer to him as the most talented and the guy that “looks the most like a #1 pick.” Whatever that means, but that’s a good start.

Sharpe has been compared to Kobe Bryant.

This is a really bad draft for guards, especially for small lead or combo type guards.
You have Ivey and then a big drop off to Davis, maybe Washington. Lots of teams want smaller guards or wings especially ones that could become great shooters. Sharpe seems to be rising partially as a result of a shortage at his position. A team might reach because of that..

I like his offensive skill set. However, he needs to improve his defense. Needs to stop ball watching and not take off plays.

Unfortunately since he hasn’t played competitive basketball in a while that’s probably his biggest question mark

Your doubt kinda makes me want him real bad…

The kid probably has the highest ceiling in this draft, right behind Chet.
He's got great size, athleticism, shooting and handle/self-creation. He would likely be the top pick next year, if he stuck to his original plan and played college basketball next year. I'm personally thrilled he decided to come out this year. It'll push a guy down to us, since the odds are slim to none he falls to pick 8 or 9.
But he has all the tools. His interviews and workouts are gonna decide everything for him. If he shows out like ppl expect him to, he'll likely be the 4th or 5th pick. Could see him potentially rising as high as 3rd, but I think 4th or 5th is most likely.
He's that guy I'll be praying falls to us at 8, all the while knowing he won't.

As long as he can got a knockdown jumper when Zion, Bi or Jonas go to the basket I’m all about it.

I saw this and had to check it out. Watched him do the jump and his game against Mickey Williams. He has a laconic style, very laid back. I didn't see that type of explosion from him. But he can definitely get up. It just looked too easy for him.
He reminds me a lot of Jalen Green. Just a little bigger and longer. I'm still not sold at the top spot or top 3. But I think we have to if he slides to 8 or so. I can't argue with that..

All of these guys are withdrawing because college life>>>>NBA life.

I mostly want the pelicans to draft high floor guys at this point. So long as this team has CJ, Zion, Ingram, and Herb starting minutes on this team will be tough to find and think the team really just needs to not whiff on its picks the next few years.
That said, Sharpe’s athleticism may be an exception to that rule for me. Certainly if he was there at 8 I would take him. I wouldn’t take him over Smith or Ivey or Banchero.

From all accounts, he has the potential to be the best player in this draft. His potential is off the charts.
I don't think he would contribute much at all for a team like us year 1.
