I'm a huge fan of aminu. He should fit in great with the other young guys. I wish we could've locked him in for a few years.

Its not easy, but if he could just be average from the corner, he is a great fit. His shot is ugly, but you can tell he has worked on it- judging on results that may not be a good thing. A reduced role will make him look better in our eyes.

The thing is I still believe it's possible to improve his shooting . . . at least to some degree. And he seems like a guy who is willing to work on it. And, yep, I like his athleticism and potential.

The problem is, if he improves even a little next year and we want to keep him, we'd have to pay him more and for multiple years. We kinda set the bar high with this contract.

@usnfish new thought: What if Dell is leaving himself just a sliver of cap space so he could put in a bid on an amnesty guy?

But we kept his Bird Rights. If he proves his worth why shouldn't we pay him? I do not believe for one second that he's going to finally learn how to shoot, but this team should run a lot more which will play to his strengths.

Certainly makes sense.

Honestly, I'm more concerned about the center position than anything else. That's why I wasn't particularly upset over the rumored Anderson/Asik move, although I really value Anderson. Hoping we find someone on the cheap who can bang, play defense and not run out of fouls in five minutes.

Atl, youre probably right. But Bruce Bowen couldnt hit anything other than a corner 3 and even that took some time. I will continue to wear the blue and red glasses until Aminu destroys all of my hope

I really don't want to lose anderson. With a good PG and a handful of guys that can penetrate the lane, I really like having a top 3 point shooter.

$3.7M for 15 minutes a game?

What amnesty guys are out there? Besides Tyrus.

I'd love him to prove me wrong but we didn't even see progress last year. Santa's real, Aminu's potential jumper is the myth.

None yet. Teams are running out of guys to amnesty. Probably only a handful of likely candidates.

Speaking of, former amnestied player and Hornets lock Elton Brand may be someone to look at, though I suspect he'll get a bit higher of an offer than the $2.6m we have left. He put up good numbers at C a few years ago in Philly.

I've seen him getting interest from the Knicks. They have no money to offer either and aren't contenders although they are a playoff team.

Brand would be a good get. But he'll choose the Knicks over us if its the same money.

I thought it was smaller, but Taxpayer MLE is $3.1m which is more than the $2.6m cap room MLE. Brand won't be coming to NOLA.
