I don't know if anybody would find this useful, but I decided to make a thread on our current pace towards the benchmark. The need is based on what a nola.com article said we needed to average over this span.

12/3 NYK - 14,020
12/8 DET - 10,823
12/10 OKC - 14,428
12/15 SAC - 13,325
12/17 UTA - 14,414
12/22 NJ - 15,423
12/26 ATL - 15,626
12/29 LAL - 18,018 (2nd sellout of the season)
1/3 PHI -
1/5 GSW -
1/12 ORL -
1/17 TOR -

Avg: 14,509
Need 14,213

Any mistakes or issues let me know. Passed the benchmark.

Dee Horton apparently knows exactly dick about ticket distribution for Hornets games.

And I hate attendance threads. I've dealt with them on multiple boards since 2005, and they are annoying and distract from the joy of basketball.

The benchmarks are not the end all and be all of what happens with this team. In fact, I may even go so far as to say they amount to a strawman in terms of keeping the team in N.O. Meeting them will be a positive, but the team will not leave because attendance comes up a bit short. A new lease is being discussed even now. Hopefully, we hear something concrete sooner rather than later.

i agree 100% a new lease has to happen for the team to stay here, but as you say having good attendance will be a positive.

Just look at the stands on TV, no one is there much less 10k, the NBA has an unattractive regular season product that is way overpriced

Correct

The numbers that matter to a team most are, in fact, turnstile count. But I've been to a lot of games. You need to brush up on your crowd estimation skills.

I was at the Grizzlies game last night, really pleased with the crowd. A lot of people are taking vacation, so it probably upped the number from your average weeknight game.

We mustered 15,000 against the Raptors.

The large majority of the empty seats you see on tv have been bought already. Those lower bowl seats have been purchased by season ticket holders. So I'm not sure how you can figure out exactly how many of those seats don't count towards the paid attendance....which is what actually matters.

I'm pretty sure its a running average too, isnt it? So its not just from November or whatever, its from the end of last January to the beginning of this January.
