What says the Pels board? I like it, fresh blood is needed before we head in to this off season.

It looks like recycling of rumors that are several weeks old. We did hear some rumors that depending on how things went there could be change at HC or GM or both. Dumars also has been making the rounds like someone looking to get a GM job. But that doesn't mean the 2 are related.

As critical as I am of Demps, Dumars makes me want to puke.

So right when it looks like Demps has created a potential contender with future picks intact they are going to replace him?

Asik is really the only thing wrong with this team and he is about to be stretched. Pondexter should retire probably.

Then you have Holiday, Cousins, and Davis with role players in Hill, Moore, Diallo, Crawford, and cunningham with long term potential.

I think Ajinca, DMO, and Frazier will be upgraded now.

The pointless winning streak to end the season that has destroyed the lottery chances also probably saved both Gentry and Demps' jobs.

Dumars would clash with Loomis. Loomis is sensitive to anyone who Benson may have a liking to.

Not sure, many thought Monty saved himself with the playoff bid. Not so fast.

Agreed 100%. If you bring in a legit guy like JVG that wants GM duties, then fine. But you don't ditch Dell for a Dumars type after he just pulled the Boogie coup.

I'm far from a Dell fan, but like you said, the Asik move was the only terrible one in his tenure. I don't necessarily think that he can draft for shite, but that's not a factor for a few more years. And if we sacrifice depth (say, Moore + Frazier + Ajinca + pick for Bledsoe) for a good player, I actually trust Dell to do a good job with those 8-10th guy spots. Don't trust him to hit a homerun on an MLE type guy, though. We just saw him sign two MLE type guys, with Moore being a solid signing and Hill looking like a subpar one (though I think that he's a fairly big contributor in our defensive turnaround).

Can someone please tell me the appeal of Dumars? Why does everyone want him?

Pros: 1 NBA title, 2 finals appearances, 6 ECF in a row and 8 playoff appearances in a row.
Cons fired Rick Carlisle, signed Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings and didn't make the playoffs his last 5 years.
He has a very up and down career.

Everyone doesn't want him. In fact almost no one does.

He's the one hire worse than Dell.

Right. This doesn't make much sense. Regardless of how one feels about Demps (and Gentry to a lesser extent), it would be weird to fire him this summer.

Run it back, if they get off to another horrific start, then I could see early season house cleaning. But, barring some behind the scenes intrigue, organizational stability seems rather important right now
