Good idea to not trade with the team that may have the best offer. If Boston doesn't offer Tatum and the Knicks balk at take back salary then the Lakers offer may be the best

This about the small market push back against this new player empowerment movement. She has to send a message, not only for the NOP, but for the other small market teams as well. The NOP not so secretly have the backing of multiple other organizations that were disgusted by the Klutch and Magic ploy.
I wonder how far she’s willing to take it though? If the Lakers offer is overwhelmingly the best offer, would the organization change their tune or is there now too much at stake?

If the “best offer” isn’t good enough, we hold him and go into the regular season with him.

As a Lakers fan and also someone who roots for the Pelicans- my personal hope is.
1. Davis signs the Supermax with the Pelicans and they begin a new dynasty.
2. Davis does not get traded to the Celtics
3. Davis gets traded to the Lakers.
I would prefer Kawhi Leonard and the youth along with James over gutting the team for Davis.
