Question about "another place"

I'm not sure we're supposed to mention other sites, but I'm curious. Does anyone check out Pelicans Report(formerly H.R.) these days. Just curious about the place and how many of the old regulars are still around. I know Eman is over there occasionally.

The information is more or less the same at both sites, but the style is very different. They are the boring, stuffy adult and we are the fun and irresponsible college kid. PR is not the same as HR was, you do post less flippantly over there than here because that's the culture, but you no longer wonder if your next post is going to get you banned because you told someone they were wrong.

That's an improvement, no doubt. I just registered for the hell of it, but I didn't use the screen name I had on HR back in the day (there's probably some sort of perma-ban built in for that). But I think most of the old timers still there will remember when I used VOR to frick with the Okies on their site when they were trying to steal the franchise. Clearly, I'm bored this morning. I need to go to work.

Poster wise I wouldn't say that's accurate. Its filled with a lot of dumb kids "acting mature" and the basketball analysis is laughable.
It's basically become "HornetsGuru Posts Grammatically Incorrect Idiocy While NolaSlim Posts a Ludicrous Trade Report".

The characterization is fair.
There is less traffic, and that has pluses and minuses.
There are not other boards to mess with you. They have sim league some like.

Not going to lie, I miss the goood-ole-days when the site crashed when we traded Josh Harrellson for cash and had like 3k people on their after the 2012 lottery.

PR.com is enjoyable, less aggressive, and generally people express better thought out opinions (whether I agree with them or not). I don't spend time over there during the offseason though.

Not really. They don't have the 5 or so posters that never actually have legitimate basketball discussions that we have here, but I rarely see great posts. The "bunch of teenagers trying to have adult discussions" comment was dead on. I read it for the same reason I read SR on occasion: if any decent articles come out regarding the Pelicans, it will be posted on that site.

Patrick is the one that banned SFP if I remember and said why in the UL. I seem to remember that.

I wasn't meaning to imply they were old in age, they just are more "adult" in having a safe, structured environment where even if you post a bad idea you're more likely to get a pat on the back than called out.
One thing I have learned over the years is that no matter what board you're on, if a post includes a potential future roster you've been made immediately and irreversibly more stupid than before you read the post. And I say that as someone who's posted quite a few potential future rosters in my time.

I rarely post over there anymore, but when I do (maybe once a month), it is usually something tearing down another poster. I'm pretty surprised I haven't been banned.
