Jamal Murray in February:
25.4 PPG
49.2 FG%
46.9 3P%
84.2 FT%
16.9 FGA/g
9.1 3PA/g
5.4 FTA/g
36.3 MPG
7 GP

I think there'll be some debates on here between him and buddy

McNamara seems to think the FO will not take him.

Get excited about Jamal Murray like I have? It will only disappoint you when the Pels don’t take him. Dell Demps and Alvin Gentry have no desire to wait until 2019 for a young guy to develop.

That's kinda moot because it could be different group calling those shots.

His point is that Benson wants a win now team. Meaning the GM, whoever that may be come draft time, will be instructed to get a player that is ready to contribute right away instead of waiting until 2019.

I for one am all aboard the Murray train. I think he would be a great young piece to add to our core. If we can draft Murray and then somehow fill the gaping hole at 3 in FA i think that would be a wonderful off-season.

B/n the two, Murray. But Murray lacks athleticism and point guard skills.

Outside the top 5, this draft is going to suck. If the pick is kept, would rather take the chance on Ivan Rabb or someone with untapped potential.

Where do you get the idea that Murray lacks PG skills? You do know of that he's playing with 2 starting caliber PGs at Kentucky right?

Dell won't be here to make that call.

Is Joe Dumars still acting as a special assistant? I can see him pulling the trigger on Jamal Murray

Demps, Gentry, and everyone else in this organization are idiots...your best player is 22 freaking years old. Where is all this "win now" crap going to be when he is 27 and in his prime and these other guys are 32+ years old?

I completely agree. We need young studs on rookie deals. Let's try and actually draft and develop them ourselves for once... I will be pretty pissed if we trade our pick for more of this "win now" bs.

It depends on what we are getting in the trade imo.

Solid point. McNamara floats some interesting options in his article. Brooke Lopez and Thad young are intriguing options and I think Jimmy Butler is probably being a little unrealistic. Although I would rather take the 1st or 2nd pick than trade it for Butler. It scares me that his inside info seems so confident that the FO would go no where near a prospect like Murray if given the choice. I do like the idea of taking a guy who has been invested in a team for 3-4 years and knows how to win. We absolutely need more winners and guys with above average basketball IQ on this team.

McNamara is full of shite. He has no sources. It's all narratives he creates under the guise of inside sources. He has no better idea what the front office is going to do than anyone here. It's all speculation with some rumor mixed in. He says smart money is on trading the pick because Benson wants to win now. That's a stale narrative used to excuse Demps performance. Ownership is cognizant of the national media and the ridicule the franchise is receiving for Dell's moves.

Just last year MM heard someone in the organization was going to be fired and assumed that it was Monty when it turned out to be Rick Reiprish

You should try watching these prospects and come to your own conclusion then. He has enough body of work for you to make your own assessment.

That article, like No Fox says, is all conjecture. Sadly it is in character with this franchise and it is depressing.

We now know what it is like to be Kings fans. Strap in and embrace gallows humor, ladies and gents.

Any thoughts from folks on the actual prospect?

I do watch

Same thoughts. Not enough athleticism for a wing prospect for my liking.

I would be on board with Murray, especially if we're picking 7-10. If not him, I would like Jakob Poeltl in that range. The one guy I REALLY don't like is Jaylen Brown.
