Not meant to be a list of the most realistic targets, but maybe some unconventional targets that could be had and would fit on our team in some type of positive manner. Let’s be honest, did any of us see going after Favors, Redick, Adams, trading Jrue to the Bucks, Jonas, Devonte Graham? The moves we make tend to be out of left field with this front office. Right now everyone is speculating Buddy Hield, Barnes, Both Bogdanovic’s, Ingles make sense. They 100% do, but that has not been this front office’s MO to this point. They typically have gone against the grain. With that In mind, here are some against the grain trade candidates.

1) Jamal Murray- Coming off of a big injury. Max deal. Arguably overpaid. Denver has MPJ’s contract extension coming up. They have decide if they are going to roll with Jokic, Murray, MPJ Big 3 or roll with 2 of them and roll with a team more based on depth.

Price tag? Heavy Draft pick compensation and their choice of NAW or Kira. If they select NAW, they get less draft pick compensation. Graham is a potential piece as well if this is a deadline deal.

Pels Role- Completes our Big 3. Can self create at an efficient level off the bounce. Has a nice pick and roll/pop game with Jokic so not tough to imagine him playing off Zion and Ingram.

2) Johnathan Issac- Coming off of a major injury. Can theoretically guard 1-5. Handles the ball well for size. Shooting potential. Why would Magic consider this? Injury concerns and they have a million young guys at the moment.

Price tag? 2 firsts. Could flip Jonas and less draft compensation for him if they are simply looking for salary relief.

Pels Role- Super defender 1-5. A guy that actually has a prayer to guard top tier guys in the league like Luka, Durant, Tatum, Giannis. Another vertical lob threat similar to Hayes. Better creator than you think. He’s still a piece of clay to be molded. He could legitimately develop into being a championship team’s 3rd or 4th best player.

3) Cam Johnson- On the surface you might be thinking why would Phoenix do this? Between Booker’s max deal, Cp3’s deal, Ayton’s
Incoming extension, and Bridges incoming extension, I do not think the Suns will be able to sign everyone. They also have Jalen Smith waiting in the wings as a potential replacement for Cam Johnson. This might be the time to sell high on Cam Johnson.

Price tag? Draft Compensation. Phoenix will need cheap depth to continue to fill out roster.

Pels Role- Stretch Big that can guard multiple positions. Smart player. Cam Johnson will win an nba championship one day as a role player.

4) Danilo Gallinari- has 2 years and 42 mil left on deal. Heck of a 3pt and midrange shooter. Generally shoots over 40% from 3 on high volume. Can also make tough contested mid ranges and 3’s. Ran Atlanta’s huddles in key moments during their playoff run. Why would the Hawks trade Gallo? Well, they just paid Trae and John Collins. Bogi makes 18m the next 2 years. Clint Capela makes 18m the next 2 years. Huerter, Hunter, Reddish, and Oneyka are all young players with promise that look like they will need to be handsomely compensated.

Price Tag- Draft compensation. Atlanta is another team that will need cheap depth in future years.

Pels Role- Stretch Big. Can carry offense and get tough buckets at times when nothing else is working. Team leader.

5) Tobias Harris. Huge contract. Really good regular season player that can score in a variety of ways. Can play the 3 or 4. Paid as a top 15 player, but he’s really more of a top 40-50 player. Why would Philly do this? I think they would consider moving Tobias for the right price. He’s a good player, but he’s not the 2nd or 3rd guy on a championship team and that’s what he is being paid as. Also, with Simmons, Tobias and Embiid, their 3 best players all kind of occupy the same places on the floor. it’s just a clunky fit. Ideally they want to move on from Simmons, but that might not be possible as his value has cratered. I could see the Pels or another team working their way into a 3 or 4 team trade that does something like send Beal to the Sixers and results in Tobias being sent to the Pels.

Price tag- Contribute picks and salary to the overall 3 or 4 team trade. Honestly, in terms of stars, Tobias has a lower price tag than most due to his salary and the fact that he is more of a quasi star than the superstar he is being paid as.

Pels Role- Would form a nice big 3 with Ingram and Zion. We wouldn’t be a championship contender, but we would be a very good team thT could go deep into the playoffs with some injury luck.

Honorable Mentions- No particular order. This is getting a bit long and I’m sure most of y’all aren’t reading anymore.

6) Caris Levert
7) Robert Covington
8) D Angelo Russell
9) Patrick Beverly
10) Karl Anthony Towns
11) Brandon Clarke
12) Brook Lopez

Simply from a stylistic standpoint, the perfect player for Zion

That’s not under the radar enough for me as there has been actual noise there. I still stand by my statements from days and weeks ago that slightly overpaying for Sexton and Prince while getting off of Bledsoe or Adams in the same deal would’ve resulted in the best potential offseason for us.

I think about half of the names I threw out there are at least somewhat realistic.

I can see that next year when Huerter's new contract is due and Trae's extension kicks in.

but not this year, they're going all in right now.

I'd try to get Fox from Sacramento. They have a butt load of guards

Myles Turner

Damian Lillard (if Blazers suck again)

Zach Lavine (if Bulls somehow are terrible and don’t want to pay him)

Mitchell Robinson (if he wants to go home, he does workout here)

Tyrese Halliburton (Davion Mitchell and Terence Davis plays great and makes Tyrese expendable since he brings the most return back)

KPJ (if Jalen green explodes and they can’t play together.)

John Wall (if Rockets provide picks since he will be an expiring the year after next.)

I’d prefer to trade for someone who can actually get on the court

Good list. I think Mitchell Robinson and John Wall kind of
more fit the spirit of what I was going for.

We can afford him because he's nothing but a project at this point. One that's a longshot to ever become even a role player worth having.

Great post and list! I really would like Issac from Magic he has superstar upside and because of injury could be a possibility at decent price.

Covington on that contract is great value!

Murray is interesting too if Denver wants to more on...

I would be shocked if Denver traded Murray. The series Denver had vs Utah, the playoffs before last, was incredible. Murray and Mitchell had incredible performances basically every game. Then Murray missed these playoffs. I think Demver is still a damn good team without him, but they need him to be a great team.

I can't see them moving him unless it's it's a top 5 player type.

Some others in the OP seem more realistic and would be incredible additions. I'd love to add Isaac to this squad. Would still take a decent bit I imagine.

Who has the absolute worst contract in the NBA? I would imagine Griff is gearing up to give up a few first for Andrew Wiggins or John Wall

Why in the hell would the kings trade haliburton?

You really believe davis is going to make haliburton obsolete.

Only player on your list that might get traded is dame and robinson. The only one the pels could get would be Robinson.

I'm going to get blasted for this one. But how about Gordon and Wood from Houston. They are desperate to move both and bottom out. They would both fill huge needs and we wouldn't have to give them much of anything. I'm not sure how the salary part would work out, as they combine for around 32M. But it works for both teams. I'd hate Gordon playing here. But he has shown to be a good shooter and he has accepted his role as a 6th man/sometime starter. Wood would kill next to Zion..
