Totally collapsed the lane with 5 guys and dared Zion to pass out and make guys make shots. Multiple screen shots of literally 5 guys around the basket last night and our guys wide open. Played him rough knowing he doesn’t get foul calls.
We couldn’t make them pay enough, and teams are just going to do this the rest of the year until we can.
Pretty clear we need multiple guys that teams respect them knocking down open shots, and that Zion needs to develop a floater/short midrange.

Need better knock down shooters

Zion got the Giannis treatment last night. It becomes worse when we don’t get stops and the defense has time to set up.

Adam Silver needs to get his referees under control. It’s beyond ridiculous what teams can do to Zion and not get called for it. That’s just not fair, Zion shouldn’t be penalized for his ability and size but it’s like the referees are trying to balance the scales. It’s on the opponent to stop him not the refs.

In my opinion, compared to the teams of the past, I think this team is closer to knowing the exact type of players needed to contribute and get this team to the next level. I have good faith in management for once that it’s more obvious what we need than in the past.
Point Zion is such a unique player combined with BI and (Good) Lonzo, i think we are a role player or two away from playing to our potential and closing out these tight games.
This young core will learn with more game experience and time to gel. D needs to be elevated, obviously. Zion will get the superstar calls sooner rather than later. Nonetheless, this will be a good year to learn and grow.

I do agree it is EXTREMELY obvious to us at this point what we need, more than any previous team.
Whether the FO sees it seems questionable to me.

I hate this cry baby attitude. Zion is a physical player that initiates and bumps players all over. Other players are going to be tough with him. You can't wait for the refs to bail him out. He will adjust and be fine.
I hated the same thing with Shaq. He is dropping his shoulder and butt bumping everybody. But he cried about guys "mauling" him. Refs see it. It all balances our..

I only watch the Pels, so I don’t really know if true, but it seems literally every team in the NBA has multiple players starting and off the bench, that make every 3 pt attempt they shoot. That’s the way it appears when every team in the league plays us.
Why don’t we have dudes like that, as it seems like every single team has them and shooters grow on trees for the rest of the league at every position. size, and shape.

Do you ever stop trolling? I seriously don’t understand how you can enjoy doing it this consistently.

It looks like other teams’ players make every 3 against us, because we’re bad at defending the 3. We’ve done it better at the end of a free games recently but need to do it the whole game which is why I wouldn’t hate to see Hart starting.
Our ours becoming painfully obvious that we simply need to surround Zion and BI with 3 shooters. Lonzo is doing better, but that needs to be the focus of roster construction moving forward.

You do realize that in Shaq's first 13 years in the league, he shot a lot more free throws than Zion could ever dream of right? Shaq lowest attempts in the first 13 years was 8.9 during his rookie seasom. And yet Zion is only currently averaging 7.9 attempts per game while guys like Trey fricking Young is averaging 10. And Embiid who is also a physical guy is averaging over 11.9. you see the problem here?

That's fine but when he is getting hacked, they need to call it.
Zion needs to work on his shot and only his shot

You're an idiot. Zion getting hit in the arms and head/neck area and not getting calls isn't a crybaby attitude. It's just bad reffing.
Love your dumb contrarion takes as always.

It becomes worse when
The game is called differently for him. Had they called that game for him as they do every other player in the league, he shoots 25FTs.

I saw those pics posted on one of my FB pelicans pages.
You just have to laugh to keep from crying over that clown ref shite.
Pathetic

Why is it pathetic? Surely Aldridge got a flagrant for that, right?

Sign me to a 10 day and I will go Longest Yard on these refs

For sure Zion should have been at the line more, I am speaking more to how teams will be playing us defensively moving forward. Getting stops and getting into transition rather than allowing the team to set up after a made basket will be critical without a ton of shooters out there.
