debatable considering we are 3.5 games back and have a tough road schedule after.
OK, I'll stipulate that on winning today. But yeah, the Spurs are going to lose a lot more games, and we probably get NAW back in 6-8 more games.
And, yeah, the Spurs have the league's 2nd-toughest remaining schedule.

Three games of interest tonight: Grizzlies vs Clippers, Wizards vs Warriors, and Heat vs Spurs.
The Wizards have jumped out to an early 10-point lead over the Warriors.

Somebody start a Tank Picture Thread. Pels need a lottery slot and BIG LUCK to get another impact player

Well, the Tank Picture Thread would just be the inverse of this one. If you are hoping that we make the play-in tournament, then you should root against the Grizzlies, Warriors, and Spurs. If you are rooting for a higher draft pick, then root FOR those teams.

Wow. Steph shot 7-25 overall and 2-14 on 3-pt attempts tonight, and the Warriors lost 114-118 to the Wizards. He had six turnovers and posted a crazy -23 plus/minus on the court. If he'd sat out the game, the Warriors would have won.
The Warriors were up 11 with 5:53 to go, and they blew it.

Chris Paul with 28 8 ast no turnovers.
That'd be nice to have on this team.

Happens, he’s earned an off night. Too bad we shite the bed too many times for his off night to matter.
Steph’s off nights tend to be really bad bc he knows he can find the magic again with just one shooting stroke.
I will say this though. Westbrook always did give him some problems. That could have played a part in his performance tonight.
How is everyone feeling?
I honestly don’t have much hope of a playoff run. I just hope Z and BI continue to grow and we continue to get Kira, Jax, and NAW (when healthy) some more run. I also hope Lonzo continues to stink it up and we let him walk or S&T him for some seconds and a nice role player. I’m just ready to move on from him and I want him to play bad enough where it’s easily justifiable to BI and Z why we had to let their good friend go.

Spurs and Grizzlies both lost last night as well.
What was that noise I just heard? It sounded like some huge engine spluttering and dying.

Tonight, the Spurs will face the Pistons, the one truly easy game that they have left on their schedule. And, yes, the Spurs will be on a back-to-back, but so will the Pistons, and the Spurs are at home, so they should be overwhelmingly favored to win this one.

The Spurs are 12-19 at home this year. 16-10 on the road.
They play 10 of their last 15 on the road.
They are 4-6 on the second night of a back to back.
Pistons are 4-12 on the second night of a back to back. Kind of a discrepancy there in the amount of back to backs those two teams have played. Spurs will play 14 this year, Pistons will play 18.
We've only played 10 so far, and only have 3 more. We are 3-7.

just randomized
there is no explanation besides pure chance since crowds are minimal.

I don't have time to update the OP this morning, but the Spurs beat the Pistons despite not playing DeRozan. I can't wait until tomorrow night.
Tonight, though, the Grizzlies travel to face the Blazers. What's interesting about that is that the Blazers have lost three straight to fall back into a tie with Dallas for the #7 spot. The Blazers need to get back to winning if they are going to avoid the play-in.
The Warriors also face the Nuggets. This is another 50-50 game that would be great for us if the Nugs can pull out a victory.

I thought we might get some help last night, because I would have bet on the Nuggets against the Warriors and the Blazers against the Grizzlies, but alas, t'was not to be.
If we lose tonight, then, it's basically over, because we aren't going to catch the Grizzlies or Warriors -- our only hope is to beat out the Spurs for the 10th spot, and that's almost impossible unless we win tonight.

blazers over grizzlies was a good bet. valenciunas is out with concussion. nurkic had a field day vs Tillman. but jaren jackson is back and looks 20+ lbs bigger. he has bulked up in his year away. looks 265. 6 11.
had 23 points in 25 minutes.

For the Tank thread, COVID Protocols are taking down De'Aron Fox, making the Kings hard to catch in the chase for lotto balls.

Kings guard De’Aaron Fox is expected to miss at least 10-to-14 days due to health and safety protocols, sources tell me and @sam_amick. Sacramento is currently three games out of play-in 10th seed.
Sacramento is five* games behind Golden State for the 10th seed in the Western Conference, which is the final spot for the play-in tournament.

this is funny.
fox is out pretty much the rest of season. kings win the tank.
so the 10th spot is now either the pels or san antonio. pels can still stumble into the playoffs. must win tonight.
3.5 back with 13 to go.
i would like to see stans playoff rotation vs spurs.
treating game as playoff game would be good practice for the playin.

this is a playoff game.
win and we are essentially 2 games back. lose and your essentially 5.
Spurs and Pels are 1-1 this year, so tonight is really worth 1.5 games.

Pelicans are about to finish right outside the lottery around the 10 pick and the Great GM will freak it all up. So the hope for the franchise is that the "young" players will improve as they get more "experience".

the previous grizzlies vs portland was playoff intensity.
but tonights repeat is without jaren jr due to designed r and r.
valenciunas only a maybe for today.
looks like a memphis L.
no big to deal with nurkic.
griz play detroit tomorrow.
both these portland games were rescheduled due to blazers cv19.
what a mess.
