The Raptors and the Jazz are really really not trying to win. ESPN has an article out today about how obvious it is. Markannen and Barnes are hardly ever playing in the 4th quarter, if they play at all.

Hornets are actually trying somewhat, and play the Raps twice and also the Jazz, and of course us. We've got a good chance and finishing below them, if we actually want to.
Zion needs to be shut down and so does CJ.

Maybe we’ll be rewarded for trying.

Yep, we’ve got to do whatever we can to get the 3rd spot. Shut down Zion and CJ. Let Hawk shot 20 3s a game.

Tonight is a big one. The sixers are shameless tanking, we need to out tank them tonight

yep. that article notes how Markannen routinely sits out against teams under .500 but plays against teams over .500.
CJ can take a break tonight since it's a b2b.

Need to sit Zion and CJ. Hopefully Jose as well, since he played through illness yesterday.

Sixers are rolling out the G leaguers.

I don't understand this mentality and obsession to not only lose every game, but get blown out as well. They re-engineered the lottery. There is very little difference from being 4th or 7th, % wise. Nothing is guaranteed.

Instead people want to make the rest of the games unwatchable and kill any positive momentum going into the offseason. It just isn't the smart way to wrap up a horrible season..

Pels are officially sitting almost everyone tonight against the sixers. CJ, Zion, Bruce brown are out. Missi questionable. Along with everyone who was already out for the season.

Smart move. A loss tonight would almost assuredly lock us into at worst 4th and we’d be tied with Charlotte for 3rd

We need to keep losing. I want to finish in bottom 3. Charlotte will pass us.

And you are literally the only person that doesn't understand it, and no one has ever said they want to see us get blown out. No one enjoys watching their team lose, but this season has been over for quite some time, and trying to win games right now is really stupid.
You don't quite understand the difference between trying to lose and trying to win.
Trying to win means you play Zion and CJ and Trey 30 minutes a game, and in the clutch. That is stupid at this point in time, and it's something we had been doing the last month or so.
Trying to lose doens't mean you go out there and don't give a shite. It simply means you play guys who aren't likely capable of beating most nba teams. Doesn't mean you still can't root for those guys to play well and improve.

So much of what you just said is just wrong and stupid.
4th place has a 12.5% chance at #1. 7th place is at 7.5%. If you want to call 5% very little, then fine, i don't really disagree with that.
The bigger issue is when you're in 4th place or better, you have around a 50% chance of landing a top 4 pick. When you're in 7th place, you have a 32% chance of landing a top 4 pick. That's a big difference.
If you're in 7th, you're highly likely to be picking 7th, or 8th.
When you're in 4th place, you're extrmely likely to be picking top 5.
In a draft with so many big prospects, that's a big deal.

"people"?
This GM and this coach are what made this season unwatchable on top of the ridiculous injuries.
Literally nothing could be done in these last 10 games that would have any positive affect going into next year. Hawkins or Missi playign well without Zion, CJ, top draft pick, Murray, Trey is pointless. They would be playign a role that's not what it would be with a healthy team.

The smart way to wrap up this season is to not have anyone else get hurt and for it to end as soon as possible.
Then we get to watch this idiot GM frick up another offseason.

You don't understand how picking 3rd/ 4th is better than picking 6th/ 7th?

You think there is "momentum" on a bottom 4 team that already has 3 of their top 5 out for the year?

The best "positivity" we can get is landing the best player this draft. I could give a frick about this season other than giving young guys reps and finishing last.

If we actually care about next season we should sit CJ so he also doesn't get hurt. Its bad enough if he gets hurt and we plan to trade him but even worse if we actually want to keep him and he gets hurt. At that point just sell the damn team.

You are correct sir.
I've been screaming this for the past two months.! Don't get him hurt if you intend to trade him.

Don't get him hurt if you plan to keep him...

He shouldn't be playing at all, its just straight incompetence.

If we don't play any starters, we are getting blown out. Nobody is watching. All everyone is doing is hoping for loses and screening box scores for results. It's a bad way to do business. At least give the fans something to watch.

Zion hasn't broke 30 minutes this calendar year. McCollum has one good game every 6th game or so. He's lost us a ton of them. None of this is a big deal. Murphy got hurt in the 1st minute. You can't protect players. They'll never be able to stay healthy by avoiding stress and strain.

If we don't draft #1, I don't care where we end up. There is no difference in between 4 and 8 IMO, as long as we have good scouting and a system to develop talent, which we don't. It's wrong and stupid to devote 2 months of hoping and praying for a lottery. It's wasted energy.

Hard disagree. If Zion plays it out, scores 30+ a game while evolving his new role, we would all be super geeked. Plus his trade value would skyrocket. Instead , we put him in bubble wrap and shut him down. Giving him a fake injury means he doesn't have to seriously train (cause that would be suspicious). So now he's a massive question mark again and we have no momentum.

I don't think you can run a team this way, so terrified of injuries. Players have to practice, train, and play. That's the whole nature of what they do. Injuries happen. Players have to recover, learn and adapt. I don't want players that don't want to play. Say what you want about McCollum, but they can't make him not play. He won't let them and the the team has no choice.

It's seriously beyond time to clean house..
