Dyson Daniels getting a 8 assists with what felt like not much usage is exciting. Is it premature to say he’s taking Herb’s spot in the starting lineup?

What is with so many of you that if a guy plays great the only thing you can think about is who they will replace in the starting lineup. How about just enjoy it and quit trying to fix what isn’t broken.

I definitely see the team running some lineups of

Dyson
BI
Herb
Zion
Jonas

Could you imagine running that out then having a second unit below coming in against another team second unit

Jose
CJ
Naji
Trey
Larry

Dyson is better than herb, it’s ok to say. Herb still has a big role, it’s not an indictment on him

Weird take

You think. I don’t think it’s weird to be happy Dyson got some invaluable minutes while Herb was out and helped this team play well, without feeling the need to replace a guy in the starting lineup who has been a starter on this team for over a year due to an injury he suffered. And, while Dyson has been unquestionably very good these last five games, I’m not sure he’s the primary reason we’re undefeated during that stretch. Just don’t see the need to have to try to move a guy out the lineup because his replacement played well over a few games. Recency bias, though, is a strong thing.

Great retort. You’re the one who is coming off as emotional. Blindly defending a guy bc he started for a year like that matters.

You could just trust your eyes, or you could reference the numerous important statistical metrics that points to Dyson providing more value on the floor

I’m not sure Herb is a better defender. He may not be worse, but I can’t think of anything that makes Herb better overall, especially considering refs still call him for touch fouls and Dyson is so good at body control that he turned a patented Chris Paul rip through into a steal and offensive foul.

And that’s not a slight on Herb. It’s a fantastic thing that the Pels drafted 2 elite defenders in back to back drafts.

Unreal for a 19 year old rookie. Always in the right spot and under control. They’re going to start mentioning him as one of the best rookie defenders in years.

Herbs hops to block the 3 on guys like Durant is elite. That’s probably the biggest difference.

Yeah, again not throwing shade on Herb, but Dyson has been as surprisingly good on defense as Herb was.

Here's Dyson blowing up CP3's attempted swing through LINK

Avoiding the foul here would be a win, getting the ball and a foul on CP3 while being a rookie is crazy.

Chris Paul didn’t even whine, he was like “damn, kid’s for real”

Dyson Daniels on this play: “For me it’s good to have guys like Herb and Jose who’ve guarded Chris Paul. They told me, keep your hands out - he’s going to try to sweep through. He tried to get me, but I pulled my hands out quick. He’s a smart player. We’ve got to use our IQ.”

There are plenty of vets that don't absorb that much of the official scouting report. This is just not normal for a 19 year old rookie.

He's not. It's not close. Dyson is better.

But the combo of Dyson, Herb, Naji, and Jose is what's truly sick. Opponents never get to breathe.

Yeah, we should not be looking at Dyson and Herb as one vs. the other. We should be looking at them like this.
