New Orleans adding Omer Asik to take pressure off Anthony Davis will end up being one of the top moves of 2014's climate-altering offseason.

Odd protection. So if it's the 21st pick we get it?

Man Asik's deal expiring next year scares me

Can someone come in here and make me feel better about that?

Future 1st for Asik expiring a nice get for HOU. Pelicans all-in to make the playoffs next season. Gordon tough to dump w/o 1st to sweeten.

Zach Lowe hates every move the Pels have ever made with the exception if drafting AD.

With his Bird Rights, there's a good chance that we'll get something back in a S&T if he does choose to leave.

Oh baby, wasn't expecting this. Any update on the midlevel exception situation now?

This is my concern too. Giving up a future first for a expiring is a steep price. I was hoping we would have a better protection than what it being reported.

Demps is a huge gambler. This move will probably make or break his career here. He better hope

Asik remains healthy and that he'll be willing to re-sign after the season.

With this move, I really think there's a good chance Anderson will be moved.

Fair enough

Hopefully we dominate the NBA next year and he spends the rest of his career in NOLA

I think people have got it all wrong. My bet is that Anderson is about to get flipped for a SF.

With all that being said, anyone think the Pels are serious contenders next year with this move and a little bit of luck in the health department?

I do, but maybe I'm being too optimistic. I can't think of a more talented roster besides maybe GS and OKC.

I agree that there is another deal in the works. Salaries don't match up right now.

Okay, now that's just silly.

Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Holiday
Evans
MLE SF
Davis
Asik

Then you bring Gordon and Anderson in to run the second unit.

I am guess they will have to dump Rivers. I don't see a reason to dump anyone else more valuable.
