I could see them playing next to each other, one at SG one at SF, swapping duties on each end (Barret D, BI O). Or Small ball SF/PF.
I'd be thinking more asset accumulation though.

Wiggins is a better Barret for them right now though.
I could see the Knicks taking this deal, they get 3 young guys with all the talent in the world, and then rely on Thibs to bring the best out of them. They also have alot of hype surrounding them with the Ball Brothers, and it would invigorate that fans base again.

They had a good relationship apparently. At least according to Kerr

Jazz interested in bringing back Favors...is there a contract we can take to sign-and-trade him there or would it better to just let him walk?

I don’t see any reasonable options unless they found a S&T for Jordan Clarkson and we got a multi team S&T going. Everyone else with a sizeable contract isn’t expendable.

Fans and bloggers bring up the BAE every offseason, but for whatever reason it rarely gets used by teams.
If I had to guess why, it’s because the guys people talk about using it on are long time vets, which means their minimum contract may only be about $1 million off from the BAE. Long time vets would probably rather choose their situation than get an extra million.

Woj was on ESPN this morning and basically said the Pelicans are still early in their hiring process. Still information collecting and haven't started any interviews.
Sounds like it might be a while.

No way they are early in their process. That tells me that they are truly being tight lipped and nothing will be known until they hire someone.

I truly hope that's not the case. Are you just going to collect information until there's only one more guy available and the choice becomes clear? There is a limited pool of good candidates.

This follows the narrative Griff set up from the start though. What is the point of waiting?
Would you hire a different coach based on trades you do or don’t make? Probably only if we’re talking about the extremes of blow it up vs. win now rosters and Griff isn’t sure which direction he’ll go yet.

If you are worried about that dependency, then waiting makes even less sense. Get your coach in place so you can work the trade market leading up to the draft.

I can't imagine that's the case. BI and Zion alone make blowing it up a very long shot.

Assuming Woj is right, this would seem to mean the Pels aren't all that concerned with who Philly hires.
Seems like that job is going to D'antoni or Lue, so if we really aren't at the interview point, I'd assumed we aren't worried about "losing" one of those guys. Or anybody, really.

That deserves its own thread.
But yeah it’s LITERALLY what Griff said he would do. He said we would be slow and deliberate and take our time.
He obviously doesn’t care what others are doing. He’s going to take his time and wait.
It’s also possible he knows who he wants and he’s still in the bubble.
But more likely he’s just taking his time.

This isn't a standardized test or a flooded market. You absolutely need to be agile in your approach to finding a coach with as many vacancies as there are this year.

Then he better hope that person wants his offer. I'm already beginning to lose hope with more and more signs pointing to Ty Lue.

I think you're overreacting. Unless you were a huge Billy Donovan guy, who have we lost out on? Everybody that was available when we fired Gentry, is still available.
As far as Lue goes, i'm not sure signs are actually pointing to him being our guy when he's gonna be in Philly interviewing for the job any day now and we haven't even started that point of the process.

I've thought about the theory that Griff is waiting on Lue to decide between us and Philly...
But it would go against what Griffin says about "buy in". He wants someone that WANTS this job, not trying to decide between this and another, or that coach's second choice.
