makes me sad. Dude has been putting up 12+ assists every game and shooting almost 40% from 3. He'd be perfect on the Pels.

Dame wasn’t realistic. He went 5th or 6th. We could have probably traded from 10 to 8 and gotten Drummond. I’m not sure how well that would have worked out in the end, but it’s one of the feasible what if moves from back then.

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t have taken him based on what circulated around on draft day and the days after. What was lined up was Dallas sending us Brunson and their first for our first, and then we would’ve taken Maxey.

Brunson wouldn’t have been a bad get. I didn’t know he was part of that rumor. Obviously, he’s a touch overpaid now, but he’s a nice player.
I do also wonder if we pick Maxey if we trade for another guard in Brunson. Might have ended up with Saddiq Bey ultimately.
