Had knee scope in October of 2019
Off for 3 months during Covid
Plays a game
Takes a game off - Healthy scratch.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen of such a thing.
19-20 yr olds don’t usually need load management.

Read this thread. It appears to explain the science behind what the team is doing.

This may seem unusual but it appears to be a normal part of the process Nelson is implementing.

It happened to Jordan his second or third year in the league. Came back from a broken foot and couldn’t play no more than 7 minutes a half.

1st) I think they had full intention to use this as a learning year for Zion and for Nelson.
2nd) Once he got injured, it made the decision to hold him out even easier.
3rd) As much as Griff has tried to temper expectations about Zion when it comes to production and reminding people he is still a teenager, i'm beginning to wonder if they aren't intentionally holding him out to further that effort and take some pressure off Zion.

Some Rookies the team would have had them sit out the whole season. Examples such as Blake Griffin, Joel (who missed like his first 2 years), and Ben Simmons.

However it was proven they were trying to tank for Scottie. Plus they let him play the last few minutes and not the beginning

Blake Griffin and Ben Simon misses their Entire Season.
Most team just would have never played jinx
We wanted to at least get some asses in the seats.

quote:I worry that this will provide cover for the decision to bring back Gentry. From the outside, it looks like the whole team is onboard with the Zion program, but there are so many other coaching issues that Gentry should not get a pass for that (admittedly big) reason.
