Watch Nets become a player for Ad in the next few weeks. Been saying for a while I thought they could bring a great package with Russell, Lavert, Allen and two first and Chris Bruassard comfirmed today they are going hard for AD. I think Russell will be a better player than Tatum or Brown and anything lakers can offer.

Isn’t Russell a RFA? Care to explain how it would be possible for them to trade him?

A sign and trade with Russell can’t realistically happen before the new league year, after the draft, meaning any hiccups in negotiations leaves us holding our dicks in hand as the Lakers, Celtics, and Knicks move on.

Russell may be interesting but I don’t see him as the centerpiece of an AD trade.

Yeah the Russell complications have them behind the Celtics, Knicks, Clippers, and maybe the Raptors too IMO.

I think the Nets are a huge player in this. Vegas released the odds on Kyrie and where he will end up next season. Shocker guess who was the favorite... Nets. Did they just come up with this? Russell is already a all star getting better every year. Put him with Jrue and you have a elite back court.

You can’t sign and trade a player in a deal with multiple people. It has to be a one for one trade, and if you make that trade one for one and have another multi player trade the league will step in and stop it b/c they know your trying to circumnavigate the rule.

No thank you. Robinson is a better contract and likely better player. I’ll take my chances on RJ Barrett/Trier/DSJ/picks over Russell/Levert.

As others have said, not realistic to include Russell. Cannot negotiate with him prior to draft, so Pelicans would have to bypass other deals that include draft picks just to wait for the chance to negotiate with Russell and convince him to sign.

Robinson is likely >>> Allen and on a better contract. It’s just hard to know for sure because Robinson is on the Knicks and Allen was on a Nets team that made the playoffs.

They could realistically do:

Kurucs
Levert
Allen
Crabbe
Multiple 1st rounders

For

AD

Then in a seperate deal do a S&T of Russel for Moore

That leaves them enough salary to sign Kyrie also

But you can't agree to a S&T of Russel in advance. If there was another team planning to make a run at Russel they need to also be given the opportunity to do so. If a trade needs to be agreed to before the draft for the purpose of using picks on players the Pels would want, then no RFAs can be in the deal.

Crabbe is a UFA, so this isn't possible.

The league wouldn't allow a wink wink deal like that, and Russell is going to make a lot more than Moore's $8M.

Crabbe is on the books for $18.5m for 2019-2020 from what I am seeing.

Crabbe is under contract for 18,500,000 next year..

Salaries wouldnt have to match, as long as we have the cap space to absorb the rest of Russel's deal, which we should...

It would be a complicated deal, but it can be done, just giving an example of how

Not an option because Russell would have to agree to the trade and or we would have to wait for him to get an offer after fa starts, and they match etc etc and would take too long.
And doubtful after playing in two huge markets he wants to play in Nola.

And I think Crabbe had an option he picked up so he's under contract.
