Most Heart-Tugging Moments Last Season

For me, what defined the season were three moments when I really felt that someone was chopping onions right next to me:

1) Josh Hart and NAW sitting courtside to cheer the Pels on, after they had been traded away from the team.

It was so bittersweet, because we knew that we needed CJ, and the trade to get him was going to change the team, but my heart broke for them in that moment. The love that they showed for their teammates said that everything about the team was different now.

2) Jose's interview after the game in Madison Square Garden.

"Oh, man, I don't know how to say it. Just seeing my parents with my jerseys and all the folks who came out to see me ... it means a lot. If you would've told me this five years ago, I wouldn't have believed it, but now it's like a dream come true. And, you know, it's crazy: I'm at the Garden, and I won, and I'm doing an interview with y'all, and my peoples is right there. You can't make that up. It's a great win for us, and I'm just so happy. Y'all don't understand how happy I am."

3) Willie Green crying after the Game 6 loss

I love that man like a brother. Is there a single one of you who didn't cry with him? If you didn't cry with him, please quit pretending to be a Pels fan.

I love this team like no other before it.

And next season I really hope and believe we are finally going to be rewarded for years and years of torment.

#1 for me for sure. I knew the team was in good hands, but that really showed we are going to be fine. That's the stuff that will make you want to run through a wall and put in the work and motivation to win not just for yourself, but for your coach too. Really good moment.

Great list, but reverse order. Amazing how connected you can feel to a person you've never met, and likely never will meet, and can tear up seeing them process the same things you are processing. Processing that years of bad culture and bad management are being washed away by the poise and determination of Willie Green and his band of brothers (shut up Mark Jackson) he coaches....it's beautiful to see. And I 100% teared up.

This. ALL of this.

You can visually see NAW taking it hard. And Hart was the first to ‘buy in’ wearing Pels gear in L.A. hours (minutes?) after the Toní trade was announced and his “Don’t trade me” comment to Griff. Them staying to support their soon to be ex teammates meant a lot. I don’t really ever remember something like that happening after a trade.

Was really wonderful the team walking over and embracing both after the final buzzer. Hart with the B.I. jersey was the chef’s kiss that evening.

Seeing Josh Hart in the blender for Game 6 was kinda sad too. Miss him on the Pels so much.
