Injury Report

Redick not listed

Okafor doubtful

Favors/Hart out

Ingram/Ball/Frankie Questionable

Good news is Langdon said he expects a number of guys back tomorrow, so I'd have to guess 2 off Ingram/Ball/Frank will play

Langdon

All three participated in the shootaround before yesterday's game, so I'd think so.

Hopefully at least 2 of the 3 are back, it would be great to have everyone back though, we could use Lonzo's defense alongside Jrue trying to keep Dame and McCollum in check

Redick must be a mutant because it only took 1 day for his toe sprain to heal. Inserting Ball back into the line up complicate things. It’ll be interesting to see how Gentry manage all of these guards.

What happened to Favors and what's his timeline?

fricking sucks because he was really really coming into form prior to the Miami game.

I thought it was back spasms and he was day-to-day.

Not really. The 2nd units are dying for a 2nd ball-handler to initiate the offense. Naw has played better when he isn't relied on to initiate the offense alone.

NAW plays best when he has some leash. Either as a starter or first guy off the bench. He struggled as spark plug guy getting 10 min.

Would be nice if lonzo’s mythical good defense would make an appearance though.

If it doesn't, I think we can say it's best to ship him off if he has positive value

Anybody else kinda hoping Okafor sits so Jaxson can continue to play?

They are such incredibly different players. When we played the Nuggets, Okafor dominated Jokic, and Hayes wouldn't have had the strength to guard him. On the other hand, against teams without a really big center, Hayes's deficiencies are less important and his ability to play above the rim matters more.

Is Portland starting Whiteside? We're likely going to need all the fouls we can get from both Okafor and Hayes, since he can't shoot FTs and fouling him is a good idea when he gets the ball close to the basket.

Okafor was listed as doubtful yesterday, so he won't be playing.

Hayes will be our loan big man unless you count Melli.

Portland has Whiteside only, if Hayes plays smart and just avoids getting in foul trouble, I say let Whiteside put up 20, it still wont be enough

I honestly think we're going to need Melli against Whiteside -- his fouls if nothing else. Melli isn't weak, and I don't think that Hayes has the strength to keep Whiteside away from the dunking zone, especially for the whole game. This really would've been a good game for Okafor, as I think he matches up better on Whiteside.

Of course, Favors would be the best matchup, but oh well.

Okafor can start at the 5 and Hayes comes off the bench.....that’s not a tough one.

Given no health issues on the team.

Gentry can force Portland to play small by getting Melli looks early as often from deep. Make a couple of 3s and that will put Whiteside on the bench pretty quickly. This should be a game where the Pelicans have to dictate how Portland plays.
