So either sign Monroe or we take that 2nd we just got add Ajinca & Diallo and get Dedmon

While i'd really like Dedmon, that's not something we can do anymore. We need to shed Ajinca's contract now, or take back a minimum deal with a trade in order to avoid the tax next year.

Rondo and Mirotic played together last year and compliment each others game.

Since entering the NBA in 2014, the Bulls are 138-105 (.568) with Nikola Mirotic and 13-41 (.241) without him

He's been the anti-tank for them this year. He really is underrated because he has typically been inconsistent with slow starts and huge play in March, but Chicago hasn't fully taken advantage of his skills either. He bulked up and has been playing really well and aggressive all year. He credits some of his improved play to no longer looking for fouls. He said now he looks for buckets instead.

Definitely need him to stick around and teach that one to Cousins.

Dedmon is on a one year deal. It won’t affect next years tax

2 years, with a player option. I have no idea if he intends to opt out or not.

As much I would like to think this deal would have been made without the injury, I don't think that is the case.

Which is sad and shows the incompetence of the front office.

One thing Niko will really help with is spacing. Not just that he shoots 3's at a high percentage, but it's where he shoots them: deep. It is something the Rockets really take advantage of with Gordon and others.

Instead of right on the line like our guys shoot, Niko shoots a lot of his 3's a step or two back from the line and he will do it off the dribble. It makes defenders stay further out and opens the lane more.

Watch where he shoots:
Niko vs Pacers

Niko vs Jazz

Niko vs Wiz

From Kushner on the Pels doing this deal even if Boogie wasn't hurt:

quote:

This is an important point. The Pels didn’t ditch a first rounder out panic here.

They were going to bolster the immediate roster regardless and the only way to move Asik this year was by attaching a first to him

To add context he was replying to MM's tweet on the subject:

quote:

Also, Pels were discussing this trade even before Boogie got hurt. This was not a reactionary trade

You're concluding incompetence based on a "fact" you are assuming, but what you are assuming appears to be incorrect.

This is a MM tweet from September about what his sauces were telling him.

yep. He’s an ideal space 4 next to AD at the 5.

Also, I’ve said this multiple times, Mirotic is a good passer.

Yet we still go half the year with a gapping hole in big men off the bench, only to finalize the deal after Boogie goes down.

Yea, Boogie getting hurt definitely didn't make this trade happen

my analysis:

good trade for both teams, and dell did well by getting the pels 2nd back. mirotic reportedly wanted to come here, and he will definitely help this year and next as they bring boogie back slowly.

nelson & allen were terrible, their roster spots now are very much needed.
