I just can’t see the Hornets going for Lonzo when they have LaMelo, Rozier and Graham already. But I like the idea of PJ Washington and Bridges. Both 22 and under team control, and also giving us some breathing room under the luxury tax. I think Pj can be a 6th man of the year type at PF, and Bridges gives us that glimmer of hope as a 3 and D player. He didn’t shoot the three well thus far, but did shoot over 80% from the FT line. I still think he has a lot of potential going into his third season. Both guys were first round picks and played 30 minutes a game, so I have no idea how each team would judge the worth of these players. But I could live with that sort of base structure.

As much as I love piling up future assets, at some point you're going to have to at least try to win some games to keep Zion here

Pj Washington and Huerter help us win more than Lonzo does.

Make it happen.

Exactly my thought.

Lonzo to Charlotte
1st to Atlanta
Lottery protected = Huerter
Top 3 protected = Reddish

Atlanta is overlaoded with 2/3 guys with the signing of Bogi

I actually think that there's a decent chance that Griff is working on a Lonzo trade right now.

That man should have hired Dell Curry for his boys.

I don't get that impression at all. They would have already laid some groundwork and we damn sure would have heard some murmurs (from the other side at least). The season is getting too close and rosters really need to be set within the next couple of days.

And SVG sounded really excited about him before even becoming head coach and laid out a plan on how to use him effectively.

Now that doesn't mean he won't get moved at the deadline. We have a tough decision coming up on whether we want to invest cap on him or someone else. I think we want to at least see how things go before making that decision.

I'm surprised that we haven't heard any rumblings about how extension negotiations have gone there.

I'm assuming we at least threw something out there.

we just found out yesterday that we offered BI an extension last offseason and he said no thanks, that he wanted to prove he was worth a max.
We seem to have a pretty tight lip organization when we want to.

I think so too.
As you said, SVG talked him up too much to not even give it a try.
But something has to give with him, same with Redick. You need to know in a few months if you want to keep them going forward or you don't want to keep them, and you need to get some assets for them if you can. Same with Josh Hart, although i'm pretty sure everyone is in agreement we want to keep him.

Are you surprised we haven't heard anything of Hart's extension too?

This team only leaks when it wants to. It's done a very good job of keeping things quiet that it doesn't want getting out. We'll hear about these deals when they're done, not before.

I dont really want more picks in general but if Charlotte is offering unprotecteds I am all about that. They are soo horribly ran we might be getting no.1s back lol

Y’all are over valuing Lonzo. He doesn’t get 2 good young players in return such as PJ Williams, Bridges, Huerter, an any other of the young guys from Atlanta.

Hell, I’m not sure we even get one for a straight up swap.

Lonzo's potential and value don't matter much to me. I look at is imply as he is a RFA next year and is going to demand 20M+ per year. We are not going to match it, so trade him now and get some value.
