This is a stupid question to look back on two years later. Maybe if we look back in 10 years and Ja is still in his prime and Zion is looking like Glen Davis then you can revisit and ask the question with hindsight. As of now, Zion likes like he can be one of the greatest offensive players ever.

Hmm thats a tough one, I think I would take the record setting athletic freak who averages 8 more PPG and shoots 60% from the field. The guy who is constantly mentioned among the all time greats and hall of famers and also has barely scratched the surface with his potential. Yeah I'll take that guy. So stupid

Based on every tea leaf coming out of Memphis around the draft, they still would have said no, just like we would have done the same if some team came offering a Jrue level player and all their picks.

Zion.

Nah is playing great but he’s also averaging 40 MP and is still shooting .227% from three.

The biggest difference is that the Grizzlies have 4 players who shot over .390 from 3 and while taking 3-5 shot a game.

We only have 2 players averaging over .400 and 1 of them is Hayes who averaged .1/.2 a game (rounded up his average is .429) and wry an Gabriel who is 0.6/1.5 which means he went 13/32 on the season.

If you’re building a team around a guy who maybe isn’t the best shooter you have to put shooters around him.

Giannis has improved a lot on his 3 point shooting but what makes that team go is that they have 7 guys shooting over .390 while averaging at least 1.6 3PA a game.

They have 9 guys shooting over 390 and we have 5 guys shooting over .350.

Look at any successful team with a key player who can’t shoot threeZ

76ers: 4/5 of their top minutes guys shooting the shite out of the ball. You have Simmons and then 4 guys shooting over .375 and 3 of those guys shoot .394, .405, and .450

You can build around a guy who doesn’t shoot 3s but you can’t just not shoot threes.

If you cut out the guys who didn’t shoot enough to really count, there are 4 centers in the league who are shooting a higher percentage than anyone on our team.

If we can ever put shooters around Zion, I think He could average like 30 pts 10+ assistants a game.

Zion and Ingram are better than ja and brooks.

The issue is Kyle Anderson, Jonas valanciunas, and Clarke/jjj are better than Bledsoe, Adams, and zo.

Val is a borderline superstar now. That dude really took his game to the next level this season.

I fricking love Ja. He was my pre-draft hopeful since Zion seemed like a pipe dream. He's an awesome young player to watch, he's fearless, and he's going to be a very good NBA player for at least a decade if not more.

Even saying all that, there is not a single scenario or anything I've seen over the last 2 years that would make me even remotely consider taking Ja over Zion.

Wilt never averaged 10+ assists in a season.

He only had 2 years where he averaged more than 5.2.

agreed.
bledsoe = weird scary bad.
Adam's peak peaked years ago.
zo is comparable to current Jjjr. jaren not close to before knee injury.

ja seems to have become interested in 3 pt shooting.

once he gets a mid range jumper he moves up in tier.

zion cant shoot yet.

zion still has very high ceiling.
all time.

ja has high ceiling too.

right now I bet Ja is first with a real jumper.
see him in next year playoffs.

Damn, remember at the beginning of the year when people were saying they'd prefer Ja? Clown show on this board.

Zion was literally compared to Oliver Miller, Anthony Bennett, etc, and some even said Tyler Herro over Zion LOL.

point zion changed all that for now.

still cant do a simple jumper from 8 to 18 feet.

pels and zion missed out on playin and playoffs.

would have chrystallized for zion if playoff teams would allow drives or instead pick him up at halfcourt and force pass.

Both. It would have been great if we could have traded assets to get him in the draft, and we would have both of the future HOFs on the same team.
