Miami is more likely to chase someone like Jrue Holiday, multiple front office executives believe. Holiday was recently made available by the Pelicans, according to The New York Times’ Marc Stein. However, two front office sources told me that before New Orleans makes any significant roster moves, it’d likely make a change at head coach.

That’s a no fricking brainer. Uncle Al probably fricked up his front office gig with this “coaching” performance. This team is deep and has a ton of talent. We should be around .500 with a coach with a pulse.

His lineup combos are questionable

I don’t think he even has a combination of lineups. It’s almost like he draws names out of a hat.

Changing away from Gentry won't solve anything. But there's a statute of limitations to everything.

We're WAY worse than we should be. Even if Zion is the greatest player who ever lived and will prove that when he's a rookie, we shouldn't be 6-22.

If this rumor is true then it suggests the team has mostly made the decision and is waiting on something to fire Gentry. I wonder what they would be waiting on? My first thought was waiting for the Saints to suck all of the air out of the room, but the trade deadline is February 6th and the SuperBowl is February 2nd. Those are too close together so it can’t be that.

Zion plays a few games, still loose, gentry let go.

I mean is a 14 game losing streak not enough to justify a firing?

You would hope so, but why wait until Zion returns to fire him? I guess maybe they hope the team catches fire when Zion returns and they can put Gentry out to pasture in the offseason.

True, still seems dumb to wait if indeed you do want to trade Jrue and there’s offers out there that you like a lot. Guess we’ll see. We have some time

That rumor is the least interesting part of that article.

What Miami has done on offense w/o a traditional PG is what the Pels should be working towards in a Zion/Ingram future. Multiple passers, cuts, movement.

They run Gentry stuff better than Gentry.
