If I trade 4, I want future picks or good players now. I kind of want Garland now.

Let's say they make the trade. Is 8, 10, Moore and Hill enough for Beal

frick no. If Lonzo/Ingram and the 4 is barely enough for him at best, that garbage is def not

Hawks want Reddish from all reports.
Reports are they are trying to get Hunter.

If we move from 4 to 8 we are going to potentially be looking at another 2012 situation where Damian Lilliard gets taken at 6 and we end up with Austin fricking Rivers at 10.

Hunter makes more sense based on how their roster is constructed. He’s a perfect match for the Hawks.

Unless we package that for another rookie I'll pass. We have enough young players atm. If anything a first rounder next year so we can evaluate what we have in Lonzo for a year

Whoever the Pelicans draft at #4 will probably end up having more value down the road than the #8 and #10 players in this draft.

Some people feel it's a wash from 4 down to maybe 15 or 20. If you really feel that way, why not go for the two-fer?

I laughed when I saw that Atlanta expected NY to trade for this package. I then scrolled to the bottom of the article and saw NO is considering it and my smiled went away.

It's intriguing but I really don't want 3 top 10 picks in this mediocre draft

Now of they move 10 to a team in the later teens and nab a player+2020 pick then I could see it

I see the logic, it's just not an opinion I share. I think there's a group of three or four players after the top three that are markedly better than whoever you could get from eight on down.

And although not always true, it's typically true from a historical perspective of the draft. Very few strong players come from outside of the top positions. My larger point is that even if you don't end up keeping the player you draft at #4, chances are you can get more value by trading him at a later date than you can for trading #8 and #10.

If you can get a combo like Reddish and Haynes, you might just go for it

I'd rather just stay at 4 and take Culver or Garland and hold onto them. Hope that they do really good and by mid season or a season from now, decide if they are worth keeping or trading.

Right. You don't have to look any further than the AD trade to realize teams can use picks like Tatum, Ingram, Ball, Brown, etc. to act as valuable assets in bigger deals depending on who becomes available later.

Trade for picks 8 and 17 along with swap rights over the next two years.

I’m thinking 4 to 8 plus Atlanta’s 2020 pick (top 4 protected), give or take a player like Alex Len.

My big deal is that I don’t want too many picks in this draft and I’m not giving into the Garland hype at the moment.

I would heavily disagree with that. The top 3 are in their own tier (or maybe two tiers with Zion on his own), but I would say 4-7 or maybe 4-8 are quite separated from the rest of the 1st round.

The prospects drop off pretty drastically late in the top 10.

I might do a 4 for 8 and 10 if they take Solo and give us Nets 2020 1st round pick. That frees up our cap space for Free Agency.

4 for 8 and 10 sure as hell doesn't get me anywhere. We'd be giving up a Trae Young talent at 4 that we sure as hell can't get at 8 in this draft.
