Poor her. Let me call FEMA and see if I can get her a meal. For fricks sake. Y’all are semi retarted.

How many other people lost millions in this storm and are still putting up $1 million to help other people less fortunate? Please list them. And how much are you putting up?

I will always downvote donation shaming. Its pathetic and not at all productive and usually comes from people that have not done jack shite themselves.

Gayle is always giving back. She makes large donations throughout the year, not just when it is popular to do so, so chill baw.

It's the lowest of the low, especially when doing it towards the biggest donor on record so far.

I'm curious to know how much LE donated and also why he hasn't called out any other rich LA folks who are not on record as having donated $1 million.

While ole lester is in the hamptons at his daddy's house.

1 mil is low if the ravens owner donated 1 mil. That does make her look bad.

Lester saying tom is rolling over in his grave is laughable. He was the cheap one

re: JJ Redick donation
Sports owners use their leverage with fans and local governments to parasitically extract city and state resources and carve out subsidies and free rent to an ungodly level that no self respecting market capitalist would accept for any other business arrangement if they didn’t have deep emotional ties to the product like sports creates.

It’s Lemon socialism at its most distilled. The public bears the brunt of the expenses while the private ownership takes all of the profits for itself. If Louisiana or any state attempts to alter the parasitic relationship, the team will threaten to relocate and rile up the tribalistic knuckledraggers like those coming to Gayles defense reflexively in here

Gayle pays no sales taxes, pays no rent for the overwhelmingly publicly financed and maintained Superdome, those stadium debts are paid through tax payers. She gets all money from the naming rights they sell from publicly funded stadiums, she gets almost all revenue from the games hosted in the tax funded stadiums. And at any point she can just take her tax payer dollars and sell the franchise off to another state and start the relationship anew.

Nice of Gayle to donate some pocket change back from the 100’s of millions of dollars Louisianians have helped put in her and her husbands pocket, but excuse me if I’m not reflixively simping for someone doing the bare minimum to ensure her PR image post hurricane doesn’t draw negative attention. Which is all a measly donation like this amounts to when you step back and consider what the state has given directly to her and her husband.

I don't see why Gayle should be the only owner to donate. What if everyone chipped in a mil?

Its because leftists truly don't believe in charity. They think it should be a compulsory and automatic and its truly just a social penance for any wealth accumulation. Her penance doesnt equal LE hate for the amount of money she has.

Whatever they give is lagniappe. It’s nice, but it is not their place,

Gayle benson has proven to be stingy with her money, as less wealthy people continue to show her up after each disaster. As well as people not even “invested” in this community, such as the Ravens owner. But hey, his team played in a super bowl here 10 years ago lol. That was his connection, and he matched Gayle without even blinking

I wouldn't go the political route, it's just such a bad look for people that do it.

re: JJ Redick donation

by the exact, and literal definition....

quote:

Politics (from Greek: ????t???, politiká, 'affairs of the cities') is the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations between individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status.

Hes criticizing how someone in her position is distributing her recourses to those less powerful and with less status than her.

Any other questions? Happy to help.

How anyone could think "boo, youre rich, you should give more" isnt a political or leftist POV is so willfully dense its absurd.

As someone that is an actual leftist by this forum’s warped perspective(though not by any rational metric), it is the height of irony to me that you are pejoratively calling someone a leftist for someone not falling all over themselves to thank and congratulate the most heavily subsidized and single greatest individual government beneficiary in the fricking state lol.

The Bensons have literally received 100’s of millions of dollars into their business coffers off the backs of taxpayers via things like the direct funding of the infrastructure that is necessary for their businesses to operate, subsidies to help raise profits to incentivize them to remain here, outsourcing the profits to the Benson’s off things like naming rights and allowing all revenue for their games to remain with them, no interest charged, while handing taxpayers the bill for the major upkeep of their business arteries and being excluded from taxes and fees the rest of us have to pay on our businesses or as individuals.

There is not a more lemon socialistic relationship in the state than the one the Benson’s have with the state, but I guess if you hand me 1,000,000 dollars in government money from taxpayers, and I donate 1,000 of it, it’s still charity, technically, I guess.

Calling a leftist a leftist, isnt a pejorative just because I fundamentally oppose their beliefs.

You can hate tomatoes, but that doesnt make calling a tomato a tomato "pejorative".

quote:

for someone not falling all over themselves to thank and congratulate the most heavily subsidized and single greatest individual government beneficiary in the fricking state lol.

You not understanding the difference between "not falling over to congratulate" and "openly criticizing and scoffing" is kind of the whole argument here though. And it proves my original point.

Point to one place where i "fell over congratulating" or even "congratulated in the slightest".

Your accusation is non-sensical and reactionary is my only overarching point there. That and pointing out the irony in your attempt to defend Gayle’s honor by personally attacking the other poster with a term more aptly applied to Gayle’s situation than any critic of her.
