He said life comes at you fast and it was true. We made trade most people thought we won by landslide. All the Lakers is shite show who AD n Bron gonna play with YMCA players jokes. The King washed jokes & AD gonna shrink like he did for us or get hurt & they NBA Champs. Meanwhile Pels have all these top 3 picks & Adam Silver mAde the bubble specifically in mind this guy changed the rules to make nobody but us the 8th seed. They gift wrapped it to us to get in & get some invaluable experience & we blew it. Not only did we blow it we fired our coach at end. Thoughts??

Is this a rough draft?

- It was always a win win trade with 2 teams heading in different directions.
- Griff cared about other things besides winning this year.
- Zion's mama must use more butter than Paula Dean in her cooking.

No offense, but your wording and punctuation made that very difficult to comprehend.

But to answer your question, both teams sort of won the trade. The Lakers overpaid for AD, but they got a guy that is on track to be an All-time great. We received a package for AD that was light-years better than any package ever received for a disgruntled franchise guy. The Lakers were setup to be in championship mode now and we are setup with some promising building blocks moving forward. We as fans want to rush a rebuild and win now, but we all knew that this was not a team currently constructed to win now.

Is English your first language? I’m being serious. That was painful to attempt to read.

The bubble was definitely supposed to help us compared to how we played. That might have been a blessing considering if we made the playoffs idk if Gentry would be gone. I'm happy where we are going forward and not having any bad contracts holding us back.

This site is BS when trying type. I hit submit like 3x’s and it kept not going through. Got tired rewriting it.

Retaining Gentry coming into this season & not tanking once Zion missed most of the season showed a clear lack of direction for this season. It’s really hard to find positive takeaways

It was worth it to the Lakers if they win the ship this year. They were just lucky with the long break having put less wear and tear on Lebron and AD. No way they win it next year.

It will be worth it to us if Lebaby gets old and AD can’t attract a running mate. We own their draft rights for the next half decade. If AD attracts another superstar, we F’d...

If you read the Lakers message board, once Ingram broke out this year, they were very pissed to have to give up all those future draft picks in hindsight. Normally getting a young all star and some change will usually do it for a superstar that wants out.

I get your point and for the future you are absolutely right. But it’s one thing to go into a season tanking, then to have a player go down and then all the sudden stop winning. You guys signed some older players like jj and favors and it wouldn’t have been right to do them like that. Strategically I agree with you. Just woulda been messed up to some players and maybe perceived bad by the public.

I don’t know how the pelicans organization is really run in terms of ownership involvement, coaches being on short leashes.. but if he tanked y’all wouldn’t have fired him (i imagine) because he would have gotten a pass. So yes hire draft pick but negative is possibly stuck with Gentry again

There are positives. Gentry is gone, that's one.

Ingram turned out to be very very good and an ascending player. He's a star in the making.

When Zion did play, he was great...until the Bubble.

Oh and we found out that Lonzo isn't a long-term piece for us. That was also a positive.

No, seriously, the plan to make the postseason and get Zion some playoff experience was a great plan, and tanking would have been dumb. And the only reason it didn't work was because of COVID and Zion's family emergency, which isn't Griff's fault for some "lack of direction."

We don't know. They kept that as secret as the coaching search.

What we do know is he reportedly left the bubble in the best shape he'd been in as a Pelican, and when he returned 2 weeks later it was like the start of the season all over again.

Worse. He looked as bad as we've seen him in a Pels uniform. It was so freaking weird.

Yeah I remember in the bubble he was like hobbling running up and down the court. I didn’t understand what happens. I mean 2 weeks isn’t enough to kill your stamina that bad is it?
